Looks really good. Im a big proponent of having stands on both sides and hope they go that route. Another nice move ahead for the Trinity Football arsenal.

Agreed; I'm hoping there will be visitor seating as well. The picture below does appear to show some limited seating along the visitor sideline, but again it's just a rendering so who knows what the actual plans will include. I thought it was interesting that Devanney noted in the article the view from the Admissions building which makes me think seating along the visitor side would be minimal at most.

Trin8-0......was on the Trinity Athletic  looking for some past MBB data.  Saw/read the info on the new facilities....nice!  Amherst, Williams, Bowdoin have all upgraded/built new football facilities this decade....and other great facilities...Colby.   Great facilities for football that plays only 9 games and does not have a post season.  That's one reason attract top student-athletes, IMO.

It's true that the football program will only play 5 games (at most) per year at the new facility, but one of the most attractive things about the way it is being constructed is how it will benefit the field hockey and women's lacrosse programs as well. In addition the men's lacrosse team plays their home games at Jessee/Miller Field and the men's and women's track & field teams will benefit as well. It's also worth noting that every one of these teams will use these facilities each day for practice, so I believe it is ultimately money well spent.

Another fine recruiting class for the Blue and Old Gold. No one does a better job recruiting in the NESCAC than the Bants.

Just one question. In the NESCAC where there are no athletic scholarships what constitutes a walk on........isn't every NESCAC recruit essentially a walk on?

If a kid commits to any NESCAC school, say in ED,  and receives a great financial aid package but decides to quit the football program halfway through his FY he doesn't lose that financial aid.

Walk-on, to me is a scholarship term, I have a good understanding of NESCAC recruiting but I guess I'm confused on that one.

Correct, the nescac can't have "walk ons" in the conventional sense. So I assume they're drawing a distinction between those kids recruited and "supported", and those recruited but not "supported" or not recruited at all. The same can be said of the non-scholarship FCS schools like Davidson and Georgetown. Those schools have recruited players and walk ons.

I'd say this is about right. It's important to note that many kids are actually the ones recruiting college football programs and not the other way around. Given the NESCAC roster limitations some programs do have to turn kids away. I honestly have no guess as to how many "walk-on's" end up making NESCAC rosters, let alone seeing the field and making an impact, but would be very curious to hear about any of these success stories.

Updated list of Williams recruits I've seen publicly announced:

Colin Schofield, QB, St. John's
Jack Dickinson, QB, Lakeside School (WA)
Will Sheskey, TB, Scituate
Jack Murphy, DB, Duxbury
Tim Landolfi, TB / LB, Duxbury
Austin Dehmel, DB, Darien
Ryan Levrault, DE / LB, South Hadley
Zach Barnes, LB/S, Stepinac (NY)
Mike Tartaglia, OL/DL Stepinac (NY)
C.J. Vilford, DL, Lawrencevile
Raymond Knuckles, DB, Greeneville (TN)
Major Cook, OL, Abington (VA)

I'm sure there are a number of others, but those are the only ones I've seen.  Both QBs look like high-level recruits, and there should be a very interesting battle to replace Maimaron in 2021 (which will also feature current-sophomore Jackson Bischoping, who I assume will be the favorite to take over, and this year's frosh QBs).  The Ephs seem pretty loaded, depth-wise, at QB and in particular at TB.  Surprised to see no WR recruits on this list, so far, although I imagine there will be some.  That was the thinnest position on the roster last year, and I imagine some guys from other positions will be moved to WR given that the Ephs absolutely need to develop some guys behind next year's senior WR trio.

Yes, those 2 are first teamers on the all name team.
Last year there was a NESCAC recruit out Choate who earned 1st team status as well: Yale Hardberger

Im very familiar with one on the latest list and have some info about 2 others and I will repeat the Bants have killed it again this year.
They will support these kids with a great tutorial program like nothing else in the league. They know how to do it and have full administrative support. Devanneys got one helluva deal down there.

As mentioned several weeks ago the recruiting season extends well beyond ED1.

The Mole

I played with Tirone's father in college. If he is HALF the player his father was, they have a really good one.
