anyone have any interest in this conference?? If I am correct they will get an automatic bid to tourney, whos looking good? How bout Castleton state?

Kayla Johnson

Yes they get an automatic bid this year, but I don't think Castleton will be getting it. The Maine teams are too strong.  UM-Farmington, Maine Maritime, and Husson are leading the way.  UMF is the team to beat but MMA and Husson should put up a good fight and maybe even take home the AQ!

wbbfan

Yea very true I did actually forget about that half of the conference which is alot stronger than the half that castleton is in thats for sure

Kayla Johnson

Big win MMA over UMF last night...any thoughts?  This shakes things up a bit.

Allen, what are your thoughts on this conference?

Allen M. Karon

Well, it's a 1 bid league.

I pick either Maine Maritime or Maine-Farmington to win the NAC tourney this weekend, and then lose in the first round of the NCAAs.

Kayla Johnson

I say you're right with your picks of UMF and MMA, but don't discredit either team in NCAAs.  It totally depends on who they play.  I know the NAC isn't a tough conference at all, but both of these teams are legit.

It is time to find out who is in... and who is out.
Whose bubble has been burst and who is wearing Cinderella's glass slippers.
It's Selection Sunday... and tonight there will be a special "http://www.d3hoops.com/hoopsville">Hoopsville" as the 2005 NCAA Men's and Women's Basketball Brackets are announced... LIVE on our air!
The Road to Salem and Virginia Beach officially starts tonight!

It plans to be a huge night... as 50 womens and 48 mens teams are officially invited to the dance and a chance at a national title.

Some teams already know they are going (thanks to winning their conferences) and some think they are going, but there are always surprises.

So tonight, we will break it all down. Starting at 8:30 PM EST, we will take a look at who is definitely in, who might make it, who will be disappointed, and what match-ups you might want to look forward to seeing later in the week.

Then at 10:00 PM EST... we will broadcast LIVE the Women's Selection Show so you can find out when we do... the 50 teams on the Road to Virginia Beach.

That will be followed by the Men's Selection Show at 10:30 PM EST - when 48 teams find out what their Road to Salem will be like.

After those selections... we will go over it with a fine-tooth comb and find out who we think are the surprises!

And throughout the show, we will hear from different regions with live reports and talk to coaches that have made surprising moves into the tournament.

Of course, you can listen in thank to http://www.goucher.edu/radio">Goucher College.

any updates on who these colleges have landed for recruits?

Susan Smith

c'mon guys...anybody know what kids these schools have coming in?!?!?
i also heard there are some coaching changes... how will this affect commitments?!?!?

Pat Coleman

I've been doing a regular update on recruiting in the Daily Dose but only one NAC incoming freshman has made the list. Either these names aren't making their local papers, the papers aren't identifying the schools very well, or the papers are so small they don't show up in news searches.

Susan Smith

don't the coaches themselves send in the names?  I mean, nothing is ever definite so why don't they just send in the the names of the kids they have coming in.  by now, aren't things as definite as they are going to get?

Pat Coleman

Sending names to someone might be helpful, sure. Then again, we have a hard enough time getting some of these schools to send us scores.

d3bballinboston

reason why u dont get recruiting names early for any team in the NAC is because 9 times out of 10 a NAC school is a students last resort.

Biggirlzdontcry

what's the deal with the NAC conference and fans, UMF beats Bates, who only a few days ago beat Williams @ Williams and there is nothing mentioned here? does this conference have a pulse or what?

d3bballinboston

not much of a pulse.. really the only good schools in this league are the ones in Maine.
