Officially, yes. But we did a retroactive BeltTM projection going back a season or two before we started this nonsense. In that, Wis. Lutheran and Lakeland (then members of the Lake Michigan Conference) would have held the BeltTM has such glory existed to mere mortals at the time.

Though it was not properly chronicled until the 2006-07 season, The BeltTM predates us all.

And after waiting ten long years for a glimpse of itsTM dazzling glory, the NACC has no plans of giving itTM back any time soon.

Because Bethel, GAC, and SJU aren't Scots, 'maniac. The sporran is a Scottish item of apparel (it's the baglike thing at the front of a kilt that functions as the wallet or purse of a Scotsman in traditional Highland clothing), so The SporranTM only truly matters to players from schools such as Alma, Wooster, MacMurray, Covenant, Gordon ... and Macalester.

For those who do not hail from a school that honors the land of the thistle (and deep-fried Mars bars), and whose hearts do not stir to the sound of bagpipes (and endlessly repeated viewings of Braveheart), which is to say everybody who doesn't play for one of the schools I mentioned (if I forgot any Scots-monikered D3 schools, please accept my apologies), The SporranTM is nothing more than a bedazzled curiosity that comes separately with the true item of importance, Thee Most Exalted Bespangled CinctureTM, aka The BeltTM.

That....did not take long.  UWRF will taunt an NAIA foe with The BeltTm this Friday before playing Hope on Saturday.  (I think I've heard of them)  The game will be played at UW-Stout, a rare regular season The BeltTm match-up on neutral hard wood.
