Any one want to take a swing at this while we wait for the 2017 season? Kean's list should include a lot of recent grads while Montclair State should be dominated by the 90's teams.

Historical/statistical archive / Perfect Games
March 29, 2009, 12:05:05 AM
Senior pitcher/outfielder John Lunardi from Exton, Pa. pitched a perfect game 1, literally, as Susquehanna swept visiting Drew , 9-0, 12-5, in a Landmark Conference doubleheader at Harold Bollinger Field on March 28. This was the fourteenth perfect game in D-III and the first since April 21, 2007 when Tim Kiely pitched a perfect game against the Tufts Jumbos.

I have to find my list of some others.  I am not sure I know about all 14 perfect games.

Awards / BB: Candidates for All-American Teams
April 04, 2008, 10:38:39 AM
With the D-III stats now available on the web (see the NCAA Stats tab under News on the left rail at d3baseball.com),  I am starting to think who is not just having a great start but with (in some cases) 30 games in, who is having a great season.

I listed the six players I saw the most often going through the stats in the latest D3says poll but almost half think I am missing someone.

Who do you think is putting together an All-American season?

Any D-III teams that played MLB teams

I have Edgewood vs NY Mets; UW-Whitewater vs Minn Twins, and St. Thomas vs Minn Twins.

These schools played against the minor league players in the respective systems.  Anyone other D-III teams get a game vs professional competition?

Paul Heering suggested this last year

Paul  Heering wrote:
my friends and I do a Masters pool for golf every year and you get too pick one guy from three different polls and their total score counts for you.  pool are the best guys, pool b are pretty good, and pool c is everyone else.

how about this?  each person picks 3 teams from any four regions, one from each pool.

Pool A--2007 NCAA playoff qualifiers
Pool B--Teams with a winning record last year but did not qualify for the playoffs
Pool C--Teams with a losing record last year

point system

Each win = 1 point
NCAA birth = 5 bonus points
NCAA regional win = 10 bonus points
National Championship = 50 bonus points

For example my entry last year:

Region:Pool A, Pool B, Pool C.
Mid Atlantic: Kean, William Paterson, Lebanon Valley College
South:  NC Wesleyan, Virginia Wesleyan, Averett
Midwest: St Thomas, Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Beloit
West: Chapman, Cal State East Bay, La Verne

anybody interested?

Did you know:

College baseball officially began on July 1, 1859, in a game between
Williams and Amherst in western Massachusetts. In a high-scoring
contest, Amherst defeated Williams 66-32.

Any thoughts who might make a splash in 2008 and come out as player of the year.

I have a poll on d3baseball.com but can only list 8 players.  Who did I leave off?  Who should have been left off?  I did not consider pitchers - leaving that for another day.
