DO.C,

You left out the first meeting between the Brett Elliot led Cats and The CRU in the 2004 Stagg Bowl. The Wildcats won 28-21. I would argue it was by far the toughest game for Linfield that season. The Cats were dominate that year. That Linfield team had one of the most explosive offenses I have ever seen. I was living in McMinnville at the time and saw every home game that season.

Whitworth and UWSP were the only other teams to even give them a game that year. The Butcher was the real deal.

The UWSP game was huge because we lost our starting Tight End that game and started to go with our four wide outs (Allan, Carter, McKecknie, Hazenberg) and never looked back.  Joel Clark had a pretty darn good day at the 'Catdome in 2004 too.

Let's give thanks that we get to talk football and are not dealing with the Mount Union situation on the OAC board.

You're probably correct on them avoiding Bryce, but the coverage teams looked a little rough for y'all. Has that been normal? Unless y'all continue to squib kick it there are a lot of running lanes on Kickoffs.

Sorry about that as well.  Our fans get after it, and I love it, but sometimes it can go overboard.

Coverage teams has been a zoo all year long.

and a slight wind out of the south-southwest.

Does that mean 40-50 mph?

The question is will it carry over this week to Belton?

That is a great question. The 'Cats are going to have to play a great game and probably get some breaks to have a chance but I feel much better now than I did just four weeks ago.

I also talked to Scott W yesterday. His mustache is beautiful and he was very gracious. No fur coat, but he was wearing white jeans.

That's awesome that he came down. I don't think he was working in a official capacity either. Like I said, he's a good man and the NWC will be worse off without him in the coaching ranks.

I guess Ric Flair* giving them a shout-out wasn't enough inspiration for the boys from Abilene.  Congrats to the 'Cats - see you (again) for Thanksgiving leftovers!

So Linfield scored 14 points in the first half, not including the pick 6, and 6 points in the second half.

The HSU defense played well in the second half and kept Linfield's O out of the end-zone. I think this bodes well for The Cru.

Nnoli ran for less than 30 yards against us, and although they are starting a new QB, is he better than the guy they've had the last few years? I remember we did pretty well against that guy and their defense last year.

While somewhat of a close game, I believe our D to be too big and too fast to give up too many points.

I agree with you 2001...Nnoli only got 30 yards and that was at the friendly Catdome and our QB is a freshman not near the experience of Riddle...and the Cru D is way bigger and faster than any other D probably ever in D3...so l don’t think the Cru has much to worry about. The Oregon boys will show up and do their best to try and stay in it for a couple of quarters. We all watching the game today felt like HSU wasn’t playing at the level they were when you guys played them and we really struggled like you pointed out in that second half but after us l think St. Thomas might pose a problem...maybe Cru staff can use some of this week to work on St. Thomas.

I agree.  Nothing for UMHB to even concern themselves with this next weekend.  Hell, who knows if we'll even be able to fill a full roster with the injuries we've had.

I talked a bit about it in the game preview but the turnover ratio played out on Saturday and was critical. Linfield was a +11 and HSU -1 coming into today and Linfield came out ahead 4 to 1.

I was in the locker room pregame and counted 15 freshman on the playoff roster. Just a great mix between our vets and skillful youth.
