It's true I'm medication adled, but I don't remember every NWC team having a bye week the same time like this Saturday.
Every team does not play!

I believe some of the coaches (not all) in the NWC called for this because they think that it's unfair advantage for one team to have a bye while another doesn't.   ::)

Defense played great today.  Coverage and punting game was rock solid as well.  The offense has a crap ton of work to do.  We've got a number of the pieces but man they are incredible up and down and our execution in the red zone needs to get ironed out in a major way.  I'm not crapping on Redlands but there is no reason why Linfield shouldn't have won that game by 30+.

I'm not hitting the panic button at all and I 100% believe they will come around but they better do it fast because that Whitworth game is gonna be dangerous.

I made it out of surgery room and recovery yesterday.
In my own room.
Walked three times.
Surgeon just left.
Drain tubes come out Wednesday.
Go home.
Take it very easy 6 weeks.
Homecoming up in the air.

Good to hear, Dens!

WC11, If you aren't able to comment on this, I understand.

I was wondering why this isn't a home-and-home w/ Carroll? My first thought is because an athletic scholarship school w/ a strong rep in NAIA does not want to take a very long trip and risk losing to a more than capable non-athletic scholarship school, and would only agree to us coming out there (obviously still a risk, but much less when you get the game at home).

But that may not at all be the reason and therefore not fair to say about Carroll, which I why I'm asking.

I don't have the background and not sure why it was a one and done. The Carroll coach was the one crying to play NWC schools and Linfield stepped up so I'm not sure why he's not willing to return the favor.  I'm sure there's more to it but I really don't know.

Weather report I'm sure will change 15 times between now and Saturday.  I think it's going to be a very good game.  Looking forward to it.

The NWC is having a terrible year and yesterday's loss was a terrible loss for Linfield.

The 'Cats have talent but it doesn't mean much if it doesn't perform.  I'm very hopeful that Saturday was a wake up for the roster.  It not, it's going to be a long a$$ year as Redlands is a good football team and I'm sure are more than fired up after seeing that score from Montana.

If you didn't already know. Carroll streams their games on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/carrollathletics

Disagree.  Whitworth took out the grass and replaced it with turf that is covered in lacrosse markings.  Automatically disqualified.

However, here are the renderings of what they're trying to build there:

How did the Cat scrimmage go yesterday?  Are the Cats ready for a team who has 2 games under their belt?

You can't tell much from a scrimmage. Both qbs had their moments. Carrol will be hungry having 2 losses..... will be a good one to watch. I think if we stop their running game and put pressure on their qb we'll be fine.

100% agree.  Scrimmages are up and down and sometimes hard to tell. I really like our young offensive and defensive line talent. I think you'll see freshman work their way into the rotations as the year progresses.  Lots of talent in both units. Tough way to start the season at Carroll but I'm excited for the 'Cats to kick it off.

Oh man...Pacific gave up 9 sacks and 370 years in the air last night against Champman.  That is a total disaster for the Boxers last night in SoCal. Ugly.

Redlands should have won that by at least 17.  Dawgs looked prepared, even with the lapses that kept it close.

Linfield roster online now.      Some areas strong; many untested.    First three games will be tough.   But, the coaches always teach them very well.   We should do fine.

GT

LOTS of promise on this roster but they better come correct out of the gate.  That first game is going to be a motherbear with having to drive out to Carroll and the Saints having TWO games under their belt before Linfield's first.  If Linfield can navigate through the first two games and stay healthy in a few key spots, it could be a special year in the 'Catdome.

Nicely done, RC! Hopefully Linfield his giving you more than a hot dog and a bag of popcorn for the work you do for them.

Thanks RFB!  Looking forward to putting in some highlights of the 'Cats pie-facing some Dawgs this season!

Linfield's transfer from Oxy, Swanson, has done very well in the 'Cats fall camp. Kid will be a player for Linfield.
