Is the UWP roster old (even though it says 2021-22)?  I thought Meerstein transferred?

It was announced on Twitter he was transferring to Concordia(WI).  There is always that chance he had a change of heart.

Yeah, it's really preliminary at this point. Take any roster with a grain a salt until teams play their first games.

UW-Platteville has posted a roster, however no freshman are listed yet. Most everyone is back as expected and they will be really good. Drew Gunnink and Justin Jarvensivu are not listed. If Gunnink is indeed not returning this year, it would be a loss of one starter from last year.

Just questioning if it is actually an updated roster.......

Weird to have some 2020-21 players omitted and others still on (even if they are no longer at the school) and posting it as 2021-2022.  Typically schools may only initially include the returners who are on campus, then adding the 1st years.

Whitewater has posted a roster of 19 in the game notes in prep for the exhibition at Wisconsin Friday night.

I've heard that UW-Oshkosh scrimmaged UW-Parkside last night and did quite well against the Rangers.

Have seen UWSP's roster...no surprises...which is a bad thing.

I have no clue where Trey Zastrow, Jacob Newhouse, Logan Mulhern and Vaughn Breit went.  There are no players who opted out last season, who are back.  Lost Logan Vander Velden, Philip Flory, Anthony Espensen, Levi Ewan.  Additions were AJ Makinen, Brennan Timm, Darrius Bolden, Angelo Rizzo and Joey Saunders.  Returners include Garret Nelson, Brady Wagner, Zach Mootz, Peter Timmermann, Cliff McCray, Mayson Hazaert, Isaac Woelfer, Elijah Vander Velden, Ryan Genrich and Ryan Peterson.  This team will surprise me if it finishes anything other than 7th or 8th in the league.

I thought that Zastrow, Newhouse and Mulhern were huge recruiting wins for the program, with them needing all the talent they could get, it's very disappointing to see their names omitted from the roster.  Zastrow quite possibly was the best shooter in the state last year, everyone needs shooters.  Newhouse would have brought length and athleticism to a team that desperately needs it.

I'm not sure how this slipped through the cracks, I never saw any type of announcement.  Coach Hockett is no longer assisting with UWSP's men's bball team.  He was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director as well as continuing on as Head Women's Tennis Coach, congratulations to him.

Coach Hockett seemed to do the heavy lifting, if you could call it that based on their last few classes, as far as recruiting goes and I'm sure had built some relationships with kids in the upcoming classes.  I don't think UWSP can afford to start from behind with recruiting.

Whitewater's roster is posted.  No real surprises, Elijah Lambert was a very solid addition from NDSCS and Racine St Cats.  He was one of the top defenders in the state 2 years ago.

Wow Purple-Gold game is canceled this week in Stevens Point due to players in health and safety protocols. I guess now fortunately the Pointers don't play this weekend and don't play until next Wednesday Nov. 10.

I see that Meerstein is listed on Concordia's roster.

On the eve of another great D3 college basketball season, I wanted to share some interviews with former coaches in the WIAC and one current head coach. I coached D3 basketball for 12 seasons in the state of Wisconsin. Hope you enjoy!
