Trine's roster is now up (including the predicted return of Ellis Cummings).  Updated list:

Adrian:
Albion:
Alma: http://almascots.com/sports/mbkb/2018-19/roster
Calvin: http://calvinknights.com/sports/mbkb/2018-19/roster
Hope:
Kalamazoo: https://hornets.kzoo.edu/sports/mbkb/2018-19/roster
Olivet:
Trine:  https://www.trinethunder.com/sports/mbkb/2018-19/roster

I find it interesting that so far the teams that have been listed have such a wide variety of freshmen on the varsity.  By my count, Alma has 8, Trine 7, Kalamazoo 5, and Calvin 2.  That fact may or may not be significant.  It may tell more about who has strong classes with more experience and who is doing more rebuilding.  In Calvin's case, it may be more due to the previously mentioned fact that they have so many sophomore guards who might have an impact that only the top forwards are on the team so far.

In Trine's case I think it's more a numbers thing.  There really aren't enough "recruited" kids to fill out a JV roster at Trine so I'm sure the coaches have to scramble to get kids that came to Trine with no intention to play basketball, to see if they want to play on JV.

I went to Trine's blue/white "scimmage" on Saturday.  It was more practice on the half court than a scimmage, although they did play one half of full court  basketball with referees.  The refs also held a "class" with the staff and players on what they are going to be focusing on this year, a lot of it had to do with illegal screens.  Not much to gleen from the newcomers.  Of the returners I though that Jared Dishop looked most improved.  He hasn't played much in his 3 years at Trine but I think he will see the court a bit more this year.  We need him because of his size.  From the posted roster it appears a few of the freshman guys who committed to Trine did not enroll and a couple new names appeared that weren't on the posted list.  Fairly typical for D3.

Albion's roster is up, looks like it's a combined JV/Varsity roster perhaps.

Looks like a great deal of experience with 7 seniors!  That must be the record so far this year, possibly by quite a large margin.

Hope's roster is up with 20 guys listed - suspect some of them will be JV, since the JV roster that is posted is from last year??

That seems to be fixed now.

Pretty unusual for Hope to keep 6 Soph's on the JV squad.  There might be an opportunity later for one of the bigger JV kids to find a spot on Varsity?  Pretty much the same squad as last year without Dante.  His minutes will be primarily picked up by Lewis I would guess then spread out among the other guards.

Yikes! He's 6'10 and only weighs 195 pounds? Insert the old "he must have to wear skis in the shower" joke here.

Apparently that issue was addressed.  The latest version show 15 on the varsity and now includes the JV squad.

Congrats to Hope's Jason Beckman who was named a d3hoops pre-season All American - 4th team.

Yes and he looks like a 6'10, 195 pound guy. I personally think he looks smaller than Serfino Davis, who was 6'10 and played for OC last year. I'm not the most basketball savvy poster on these boards but he looks like he is going to be fun to watch. I think Marymount really did D3 a disservice in not letting him out of his scholarship last year, because it would have been a treat to watch him and Jalen Adams play together.

Also back to basketball...just heard today that despite some recent positive news on the recruiting front, there is also some attrition coming to the Knights next season. The Morrison brothers (senior and soph to be) Tom and Luke will both be leaving Calvin at the end of the school year.
Destination unknown?

I've heard they are bound for DePauw in their home state of Hoosierville.

Nope. Luke Morrison is now an Eagle. Emory just released its roster, and he's on it.

I saw Luke on that online roster or somewhere a few weeks ago ... could have been my Top 25 data. I was surprised they both weren't at the same school.
