LK's other daughter's name is Faith, which is what many of you need to have right now, Dartt winning % is .933!  For the record LK's winning % was .929 and was only .755 after his 1st 45 games.

If we hire an OC we need to look at Wartburg's OC and Mount Grad Luke Summers.  Assuming he isn't the next HC at ONU.

You sure about this? LK was 40-10 in first 5 seasons (80%). Lk was 61-14 in first 7 seasons (81.3%). From that point on he was 272-11 (96.11%).
No one said Dartt can't win OAC games. Great he has a .929 - if he was hired to kick the he!! out of Wilmington, Defiance, and Otterbein then Mission Accomplished. He was hired to add National Championships.

And for the record - LK inherited a good program from Wable. He turned it into a juggernaut. VK and GD inherited a Ferrari - titles were expected. VK got it done after early struggles but NEVER exited in the 2nd round. GD has taken a Ferrari and turned it into a Ford Taurus wagon. Safe, dependable - but it ain't winning any races (or titles).

Cortland State must be loaded with AA/NFL talent on offense.
Something must be the reason that Cortland is 38 points (so far) better than Mount Union against Alma's defense.  (Yeah ... I know ... It is not that easily "defined.")

The Randy-Mac-Johnny Hop game was fun to watch amongst the six I followed this afternoon (the only one final, besides Oklahoma State-Texas which still has a quarter to play).

Tough season when you lose to the team who lost to the team, who will then lose to the team, that will then go on to lose to the winner of the Stagg Bowl. No winners, it appears, in the lineage this year.

So, to sum up... Humperdinck marry Buttercup in little less than half an hour. No wait . So Mount lost to the team (Alma), that lost to the team (Cortland), that will lose to the team (Hopkins), that will lose to NCC. So, using my Hiram math...#2 in the polls is still a possibility!!

You mean R-M, not Hopkins. :)

Right my bad. Too bad for Alma. Look I am ticked that Mount lost but if you're Alma, and the 800lb gorilla had a bad day (or you had a better day) you need to take advantage because Mount is what has stopped some good teams over the years from being great teams. Alma had their shot and maybe the stage was too big. Maybe Cortland would have won no matter who they played because they are that good. Who knows. Here is my big question though: if you are Dartt do you have your team watch the remaining games as a team activity? Make them hear the announcers talk about them not being there?

Getting ready to head to Mount for the pre-game brunch! Oh wait...I forgot that Coach Dartt cancelled my plans. Oh well I guess getting to the 2nd round is the new Standard we'll Champion. We can start hanging banners for "NCAA Football Round 2 Participant 2023". Thanks Coach. Let us know when you find the missing 85 pages from the playbook.

Second quarter on a pass to a RB
#6
Mount looked dangerous, deadly, poised, unprepared, uninspired, and determined....and that was all on the first series. They come out hot. Boom, boom, boom and then went into neutral. Allowed penetration, took a penalty then I think another. Back themselves in a corner and Boom! Touchdown. The second quarter was painful. No offense to Alfred State but it wasn't anything they did. Passes behind WR, missed assignments, out of rhythm and sluggish. Tossing the pick in the end zone was Braxton forcing a ball into double coverage with an open man in the flat. Missed tackles (gotta wrap when you hit). To be honest the second quarter reminded me of the 2004 (?) team that lost to St. John's in the Stagg. Mount looked like the game was over and just went through the motions.

Now having said that - Mount did what great teams do. They flipped the switch at halftime and rolled. The D got penetration and made plays. For the game Mount gave up 136 on the ground, 117 passing (253 total) and 13 first downs. The rushing yards are a bit deceptive because it was 3 chunk runs (22, 12, 15) and the fake punt for 33.

But after halftime they gave up a total of 85 yards (44 rush, 41 pass) and only 1 run of more than 7 yards (25). They made adjustments and cleaned it up and finished. Win and advance. Roll Raiders

I am watching the restream on boxcast...wow Alfred State's 2nd TD was awful! That was offensive pass interference. He didn't push off he shoved him halfway across the end zone. How in the world was that not called?

Where was Rossy?

Good is my biggest question and concern....if he's injured, this is a different defense.

I listened to the broadcast on WRMU and thought they said in post game they were hoping to get him back. Didn't say injured but I banged up, I think.

Who is responsible for posting Mount highlights from the previous game? Can't figure out why it takes so long to get them up...aside from Lenny no longer being involved. The BW game was a week ago and I can't find any. I seem to recall them being available within a couple days of the actual game in previous years.

Anyway, while looking for them I looked at the previous title game highlights. Ballard was good but Borchert was amazing. Almost forgot about Adamson but he could sling it to. It was fun to reminisce watching VK, big Jason Hall, Campbell, Siriani, Knapp, Moore and Pugh, Golate, Smeck, Kmic...legends all.

Who from this Mount team will we still discuss 10, 20, ? years from now?

Borchert was unreal. Whenever I hear an announcer say the wind or rain will negate a passing attack I say not if the QB is Bill. RIDICULOUS.

As for Plunk...first quarter to Ruby. I went to a playoff game where Mount scored like 70 in first half...this could be worse.

Btw...if you are the Pioneers WTH is with the blue Bull? We are the Purple Raiders...our mascot is a unicorn?

Alfred State is essentially eliminated from ECFC title consideration.

I do not think that word means what you think it means.

Well not much going on in the ECFC board. Is anyone making the journey to Alliance for round 1?

I would not be happy on the other side of the bracket regardless of ranking. Makes it impossible - not unlikely, impossible - for a cinderella on that side, and whoever wins that side is going to have to play and win at least 2, maybe 3 Stagg worthy finals just to get there. However, what do you do? Put Mount and NCC in the same side to theoretically meet in the semis? Geographically it works. If Mounts side had NCC, and Johns Hopkins - then it would look a lot better opposite UWW, UWL, Wartburg. The other solution - which will NEVER be entertained - is to remove the 500 rule. Since it would undercut $$ its not going to be discussed - but it is the easiest way. Take the "biggies" and spread them out to each quad.

Or put them all on one side. It gives a shot to someone else (if you want that sort of thing) and levels the field a bit. One side with Mount, UWW, UWL, Wartburg, NCC, Johnnies, Trinity, HSU, Linfield (and that odd looking mascot) and whomever else makes a claim at being a power.

I don't know about 6 to 8 teams...but I think any 6-4 or 5-5 conference champ should lose the AC. Same for a split or co-champ. Alfred State is going to get tagged for 60 by half time. It is what it is. Maybe to get an AC a conference has to have at least 100 pages of comments in the boards? That chat is as alive as Alfreds chances of advancing to round 2. The main question is how deep are the pockets that put everyone on the other side of the bracket?   ;D

About BW. I posted this during the game but had gloves on doing yardwork so I put it in the NCAC and deleted it later. To the Mount WRMU radio guys - listen up arse hats. 1. If you have a cold, fine. Make sure to mute before you sniffle in a gallon of snot for all to hear. 2. Stop saying what an exciting game it is while in the middle of a yawn. The entire damn game all I hear is Senor Snot-snarfer sniffling and yawning his way through the play by play. At least pause speaking until the yawn is done. You just aren't that good to yawn while speaking and have no one be able to tell.

It has been a rough couple of years. Lost both my parents and a brother, and my wife's dad passed early this year, so football hasn't been high on the list right now. I have not followed too much this season (caught some highlights or replays) but I have been busy. Have not made it to a game....yet. But we (the fam and I) just got back from Germany and Dublin (really needed to get away) and I decided to tune in for this one. Ok, so I followed the score as I helped my wife pack up her dad's house. But I tuned in for the replay last night. Mount looked ok. The offense looked slow (not fully in sinc) and the D reminded me of maybe 2018 (?). They bend but don't break and seem to be able to get that big play on demand. I can't say I was impressed but I wasn't disappointed either.

The thing I can't shake is that Plunk reminds me of Seaman and/or Fulford. Talented but you know there are things he can do (you've seen him do it) but for some reason he isn't doing them. He can run. I have seen him. He's actually mobile but he doesn't and instead throws it away, or checks down even though he could get 15-20 running. It's just frustrating.

Having said that - this was a great test for Mount. JCU is a good team and played well - they averaged 5.5 per play and had 300 in the air. But Mount found a way. Grind out good days. This just felt like a glass half empty type of win. Now the question...does JCU stand a chance at playoffs with 2 losses? Top ranked losses...but losses.

Sorry for the lengthy. Roll Raiders ~ Roll!
