Good to hear from you again! You seem to always be a voice of reason and fair play. (For the most part). Just kidding big guy. I'm staying out of this discussion. I don't know if I'm passionate, dispassionate, sentimental, fair-minded or what. I do know I'm old. I get mixed up and I forget things.
In closing, Go Little Giants and Go Raiders! Oh, Go Everybody! ☠🏈

Perhaps the snail's pace at which our justice system works has a lot to do with the witness wanting to get it over with.  Had the case come to court in a timely manner, she may have been more responsive to testifying.  After many months, it just may not seem worth the trauma to relive the alleged assault.  Time may heal wounds, and it may be someone just not wanting to pick the scab.

Basically anyone that says they know what happened is not telling the truth unless they were their to witness the event.   It is not fair to say even though he wasn't convicted he may have still did it and vice versa.  Either way you are making a judgement that is not based on any facts.  The girls case could have been imaginary.  The guy could be a serial offender, or somewhere in between in all respects.

The presumption of innocence is a legal right and not an obligation of D3 message board crowd. You can argue it should be both, but presumed innocence has no standing in the court of public opinion. If it did, Barry Bonds would probably be in the HOF by now.

I have no idea what the kid did or didn't do, but people on here will speculate all they want and that's what the board is for, short of violating the terms stated by our beloved moderator.

raiderpa, joelmama and USee, excellent posts.  Notice that courts do not have a choice of guilty or innocent; just guilty or not guilty.  Since not guilty sounds awfully close to innocent, I prefer the Scottish version: guilty or not proven.

Unless the girl is a pathological liar (which IS possible), the guy likely did something his mother would not be proud of!  Whether or not it was rape, we will almost certainly never know.

What proof there was that justified charging three counts of Rape?

For somebody so concerned with proof, I'm still waiting for links to all of the media reporting on this story that contain fanfare and glee.  Absent proof, the statement is irresponsible and the insinuations buried within it are foul.  Show your work, counselor.

Some of you may recall the fanfare, even glee, certain media outlets reported the arrest of , "a former Mount Union football player"  on multiple Rape charges in 2017 in Alliance.

Based on Purple's past posts and the like, I just figure I should point that we were not among those media outlets. :)

Well this is a first  ;)

And a Happy 4th of July to all in the OAC and actually, to all posters everywhere. Travel safe. Enjoy picnics, visiting family and friends, watching fireworks or just relaxing.
A big happy birthday to the best country on the planet. It's been a long journey, through wars, depressions, civil unrest, political battles and many other bumps on the road of freedom. But damn it, we keep going. We fight, we win. We die and we are born. We get knocked down but we always get up, bruised but continuing on our way.
Pardon the sentimentality of an old Air Force veteran. I love this country.
God bless America. 🇺🇸

Disclaiming a story? Perhaps. But definitely not the first time that a former D-III player has had legal trouble and we've ignored it.
