UWSP's man, fwiw, have a 24 game home winning streak on the line tonight as they host Oshkosh.

That very well might be the longest active streak right now.  (I assume we're counting tournament games played at home.)

I just looked at a couple of the top teams.  I can't find a Whitworth home loss since Jan 16, 2009.

That's 41 in a row by my count, but there could be a couple of unmarked neutral site games in there that I missed.

Likely the record is more than Point's right now.

Can anyone think of a team that would have a longer home winning streak active?

Yes, after a home loss against Whitewater on 1/27/10 (their only home loss that year), Point won the last 8 at home, including the last 4 during the tournament... Then they won all 13 last season and have won all three games thus far this year.  Had they beaten WW in 2010, it would only be 35 currently... so Whitworth would still be tops, I think.

Whitworth wouldn't have any home playoff games with the exception of NWC tournament games (if you consider that a playoff...) or 1st/2nd round in the NCAA tournament b/c they haven't hosted a regional.

Whitworth has won 41 straight in Spokane. 72-3 at home over the last 6 years.

Whitworth has hosted Chapman, CMS, and Occidental in the last 4 years in first and second round tourney games. The popular NCAA thing to do is giving Whitworth a bye and sending up the SCIAC v Chapman (who is now in the SCIAC) sacrificial lamb...i mean winner...to The Fieldhouse. But yeah, I'm pretty sure they've only played 4 home playoff games during this streak so nearly all of the wins are against NWC opponents.

And the streak ends at 41...who's got next?

I think Stevens Point has it now.

Amherst and Middlebury both have pretty long ones, but I think the Pointers have it now.

We may need to start looking for somebody else soon... UWSP's 25 game home winning streak will have to get past #13 Whitewater on Wednesday and #14 St. Thomas next Thursday.

I just counted... Amherst is at 20 and Middlebury is 15.

With tonight's W, UWSP is up to 27... one shy of tying the school record from 2004-2006

I'm guessing Amherst is at #2 then, unless there's some lower profile team with a crazy home court advantage.

UWSP fell at home yesterday to UW River Falls, ending the (believed to be) nation's longest home winning streak at 29 games.

Is Amherst tops now?  Or did they lose at home (in which case it would be Middlebury, I think...)

I think it's still Amherst.  Both of their losses have been on the road this year.

Birmingham-Southern had a 43-game home streak snapped when they lost in the SCAC semis over the weekend ... tho since they were transitioning from D1 to D3 and not officially D3 until this year, that probably wouldn't have counted.  Irrelevant now ... http://www.bscsports.net/sports/mbkb/2011-12/releases/20120225b11s5k

Amherst women are up to like 109 or something at LeFrak.  Last loss was January 30, 2009.  I know it's over 100 just not sure how far over it is.
