They've certainly tried to pull off the upset before and come up just barely short. And yes, Chris Toth especially has been getting looks from the pro scouts.

That doesn't give me much info. But thank you.  ::)

BU has a defense good enough to keep them in most games against most sides.  They live or die by their superstar QB, Jaran Roste, who is just a year or two younger than yourself.

That’s your basic scouting report.

Retagent is lost-his favorite wiac team is out-maybe focus on SJU and Bethel? Must be strange no December arguments with bleed purple

I can't have any fun poking the bear (or Warhawk) this season.

A good game today.  SJU were a step above UNW but UNW never rolled over and quit.  They played hard despite the odds being so badly stacked against them.  They hit the Johnnies when our boys are firing on all cylinders.  The score does not reflect UNW’s effort.

It was a great game for the Johnnies as they didn’t get a straight roll over.  They had to keep the machinery oiled in order to play this one and that’s good for us.  A big game next week and we’ll really need to be ready to go.  Another gear is required.

Congrats to your boys on a game hard played, AO.  Commiserations on the double stomp.
Thanks Oz, best of luck to the Johnnies for the rest of the playoffs.  I reckon this is the best Wartburg team we've seen in a while but I've still got the Johnnies by 10.

I think McMinnville has 8-10 weed shops. (I'm not counting though....)

That explains Bluenote.

Smooth Roots is my favorite. The others I have no idea.

Could someone give me a basic scouting report on Bethel? I believe Linfield is the underdog in this one.
Blue,
Bethel is a good football team esp if Roste is healthy.
The biggest problem is hazzben. He knows almost as much about football as Prof. Irwin Corey. He will challenge the officials about anything. If you engage him the dialogue will go on for about two weeks. If you ignore him it will only be about a fortnight.
Have plenty of smooth roots on hand. :)

I was expecting to have to sync the WBHR audio with the game video for the first round games, but it appears that the NCAA now allows commercial radio to be paired with streaming webcasts.

This is the first time I've seen this happen. Something must have changed relatively recently. It's a long-overdue change in my opinion.

MIAC awards are out.

Offensive POY - Roste (BU)
Defensive POY - Wozniak (SJU)
Stam - Jakes (GAC)
Rookie of the Year - Williams (BU)
Gagliardi COY - Fasching (SJU)

This is a departure from previous years, when they have awarded a single POY (aka MVP), Stam Award, and coach of the year.

4 all-conference QBs (including Macalaster) + 1 honorable mention?  8 all-conference WRs + 3 honorable mention?   ::)

I reckon Fasching does a spectacular job but I’m a little surprised the Carleton coach didn’t take COTY this season.  Also, how many players were named in total?  120?

EDIT:  Of course, Gagliardi famously made every senior a captain, so….  I wonder if Fasching continues that practice.

I like that they did DPOY and OPOY. Otherwise a defensive stud (like Woz or Seth Mathis) never has a chance at the award. But doing one team, with 12 DL and 4 QB's is just silly. It doesn't have to be wooden and only 5 OL and 1 QB etc. You can have discussions in the room if you think there are clearly reasons to make an exception (e.g. 2000 with Linneman and Kirchoff as 1st Team QB). But to go a step further and just have 1 team is even worse. 8 WR's were All MIAC, your participation ribbons are in the mail...and GET OFF MY LAWN!!

*Not meant to be a slight to the players who made it. But it takes away from the guys who really are deserving of 1st team recognition. And it makes All Region selections from the MIAC more about which fan base and program does the best at marketing their players than it is about who from an off the radar team really is a stud.

Good to see the MIAC coaches suck at post-season awards too.

MIAC Teams social media: “Hey recruit, ignore that we got SMOKED by SJU, just look at all of our All-Conference performers!!!”

Special teams and TE looked to be the hardest positions to get a nod in for those looking to increase their odds of selection.
