Empire 8 All star team out.

https://empire8.com/news/2018/11/18/football-brockports-germinerio-repeats-as-empire-8-offensive-player-of-the-year-as-league-announces-annual-awards-all-conference-teams.aspx

Brockport nabs Offensive and Defensive Player of Year and Coaching Staff. They also had 7 first team defensive performers.

They got lazy this year and didn't put which year each player is, and what hometown/HS each player is from.

Bport holds on to win 40-27. Fram St certainly represented themselves well and kept pressure on Brockport the whole game. On to the 2nd round. An interesting next round setting up, Brockport vs RPI for the NY State Championship and JHU vs Frostburg for the Maryland State Championship. Hopefully academics will not be considered.

Fram scores , now 37-21 Bport. Hanging tough. 2 score game
#4
Fram almost cuts Bport lead in half. Scores TD and misses 2 pt conv to trail 30-14

AU out Salisburys Salisbury to win on the road 14-7. A stouter run game and defense than the Gulls.  Nice way to end the season, and make for a fun ride home to Alfred.
#6
AU misses a FG to keep Sal in the game.
#7
Nas Smith busts through for a 61 yard run to pull AU ahead 14-7

Looks like sunny yet chilly day in Salisbury. Nice high, wide view on their broadcast. Already saw SU make multiple mistakes on offense, false start, etc. 7-7 at start of 4th Q. Sal with ball

Props to Alfred for hanging tough with Salisbury. Looks like it's 7-7 in the middle of the 3rd Q.

Brockport up 24-0 at half. Fram starting RB ejected from game for striking a Brockport player. Chippiness abounds.

Fram hanging tough for now. Brockport gives Rams a taste of their own medicine, scoring a TD on a reverse throwback screen. Rams had beat the Bport blitz for a big play with the same play earlier.  Fram has no kicking game I guess. Forced to go for it on a 4th and 8 inside the Bport red zone, and failed on the attempt. I gues they said they don't kick FG's I guess all season.
Bport up 14-0.

Brockport up on Fram St 7-0 after 1 Q. Fram forced a Brockport turnover on downs on the Bport + 25. Brockport pick 6 brought back due to defensive PI

4 E8 teams in post season. Half the conf...not bad. 2nd place Cortland was the only winning conf team left holding the bag.Thru no fault of their own, stuck in no mans land.

12PM   Alfred 6-4 @ Salisbury Steak 8-2 (NJAC)   Hey..the good news is you got an ECAC bid..The bad news is you have to bus 433 miles to Eastern MD and back. SU has the #1 rushing attack in the
country and the 7th overall defense. That's pretty tough and at home. AU doesn't have much comparable to that. SU with the victory.

12PM  Framingham St 8-2 (MASCAC) @ Brockport 10-0.  Cortland blew out Fram St earlier this year and we'll see if this is a similar result. Framingham's "strength" is their D, but they gave up 57 points to
Cortland, and lost to Plymouth St, who Brockport manhandled last season in the 1st round NCAAs. Brockport is 7th nationally in offense
and 2nd in total defense, so they have tremendous balance. Should be a comfortable victory for the GE's.
1PM Morrisville 6-4 @ Grove City (PA) 7-2 (PAC)           Mustangs make the trek to Western PA. Teams look pretty evenly matched. I'll give the slight edge to the Wolverines playing at home.

1PM Utica 6-4 @ Ithaca 8-2           Ithaca thought they had put the Utica's of the world behind them when they left for the LL. I'm sure this game is a let down for them, but hopefully they can muster the
strength to take care of business at home Cornell. Their 11th ranked defense should be enough to take care of UC's feisty offense. Blaise leaves his alma mater alma mater's town not
                                                   victorious.

Just curious. Other then Brockport and Frostburg, how many other schools in the playoffs are public schools.

Just 2 others as far as I know, UW-Whitewater, and Framingham St. Oddly enough, 3 of the 4 are in the "Brockport" bracket.

yeah, we saw video and got some background from someone at the game. Not a good scene at all.

LL awards came out:

Not sure I agree on Gladney as OPOY and there are some guys up higher and lower than I would have picked, but I know there's an unspoken preference shown to SRs.

Anyway, congrats to all the kids on the list and to Coach I and the RPI staff on a great season.

Interesting to see all the 1st team skill position guys (except for TE) are underclassmen, and 6 of 7 2nd team skill guys are also underclassmen. Looks like most of the offensive skill talent will be back next year, so that bodes well for excitement and talent for the LL next season. Plus, the 3rd QB chosen, Hoffman from Hobart, is also returning.
