Bloody Hell! As they say in these parts regarding something like this.  Today in Georgia (the former Soviet republic) a chairlift at a ski resort had a critical failure and it appears both the engine and the breaks gave out.  People loading to go up the mountain game zipping back down in reverse at great speed with horrific crashes at the bottom.  This is troubling to watch, although not graphic.  Dang.

Last year Oz's high school won the state 2A Hockey Championship. And Pat Coleman's high school won the 1A Boy's basketball title.

Yesterday my high school, Austin Pacelli, in co-op with a small town 12 miles away won the 1A Girls basketball championship.

Back when I was there we were known as the Shamrocks, so very appropriate they won it on St. Patrick's Day. We also had about 500 students grades 9-12 and didn't need to co-op sports. Now I wonder if they have 100 students total.

Anyway congrats to the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics! (formerly Shamrocks)

When I was in high school (Winona Cotter) Pacelli was always a strong opponent in most sports. Cotter, too is not what it was when I was there. They are housed in buildings that were once part of St Theresa College, which is gone. I guess the older you get, the more changes you see.

I saw that the other day on twitter...brutal.  Two things in particular - that party of 4 who hung on all the way to the end and just gets slammed as the chair swings around, and the 1 guy who hangs on through the end and ends up all tangled in the wreckage of the chairs...you can see his skis in the mess all the way to the end.

I guess they didn't notice the chairs getting hung up, and figured they'd just ride it around the loop rather than jump off as they got close to the ground?

OzJohnnie

Yeah, I don't know. I'd like to think I would drop off at the bottom when everyone is screaming jump, but you never know what you'll do in a crisis.

It takes a lot for me to feel any sympathy for Packers fans.  But this just might do it:

Tailgates at the Green Bay Packers' Lambeau Field are under attack, thanks to shameless lobbyists

A proposal currently making its way through the state legislature, Assembly Bill 433, would make tailgating illegal before Packers (and potentially Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers) games. Specifically, it would ban the consumption of alcoholic beverages on private property if the person in charge of the property received payment for temporary use of the property, unless that person obtained a retail license to sell alcoholic beverages.

The middle video features Mike and Suzie; my in-laws. Dear Lord, this makes the whole post go from bad to awful. Congrats though to you two for the business success but Tommie dog collars? I hope you did not buy too many.  Unbelievable.

When you say that video was late, does that mean it's a regular production? Do I have to wait until next year for another?
It is definitely in it's own genre. Do we see a possible Oscar nomination?
Not being from Minnesota, it has all the excitement of a root canal for me. It did however; make me ponder the meaning of life.
Damn, we have nothing like it in Ohio. On a scale of 1 to 10, I put it somewhere in between!
You're still one of my favorites BDB. I guess you know what you're doing.
I, on the other hand, am old, get mixed up and forget things! ☠🇷🇴

It's OK not to get it since you are from Ohio, MUC57. But I bet you had a pretty nasty salad back in the day. With plenty of letty and good flow.
