As far as I know, he is fit and ready to go. Watch out for his brother as well.

Wasn't sure where to throw this but news coming out of the SUNYAC and Empire 8. Brockport and Geneseo are switching conferences starting in the fall of 2024.

Empire 8 will now consist of 11 teams (Alfred University, Elmira College, Hartwick College, Houghton University, Keuka College, Nazareth University, Russell Sage College, St. John Fisher University, SUNY Brockport, SUNY Geneseo and Utica University), while the SUNYAC drops to 8 (Cortland, Oneonta, Plattsburgh, Potsdam, Buff State, Fredonia, New Paltz, Oswego) unless there are other changes in the works.

News coming from the SUNYAC... They will be splitting into East and West divisions virtually eliminating the need for overnights. An interesting piece to note is that - "members of the two divisions potentially could schedule non-conference crossover contests against each other that would have no impact on the SUNYAC standings."

Does anybody know if Rochester streamed the first round game they hosted but didn't play in last weekend (St. Lawrence vs. Brockport St.)?  If so, was there commentary?  Just curious what to expect since I'm 90% sure I won't be making the trek up to Rochester for a variety of reasons.  Really, really bummed about this.

Yes, they streamed all the games they hosted last week. They were having some technical issues before the first round games but hopefully they have that sorted out. Also, the commentary was cringe worthy

This Brockport GK is pretty good I will give them that...SLU starting to run out of time with about 13 minutes left they need an equalizer...They cannot pass back now just gotta push the issue and only go forward. Cannot waste time by swinging it in the back IMO.

This is only his 3rd game starting this season I believe. I'm not sure why their usual starter is not in...

Oneonta tops SUNYAC men's soccer preseason poll

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's soccer coaches voted Oneonta No. 1 in the 2018 conference preseason poll with 79 points. Cortland was voted No. 2 with 75 points, while Plattsburgh was voted third with 57.

Iain Byrne returns for his 16th season as head coach at Oneonta, looking to defend last year's tournament championship victory for the Red Dragons. Oneonta has won five tournament championships under Byrne, and 10 overall. Last season, Oneonta took the Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year awards. Witman Hernandez, the 2017 Tournament MVP, returns for his junior season with the team, while Roberto Ventura, recipient of last year's Rookie of the Year Award, returns as a sophomore.

Cortland will seek to improve on last year's tournament finish. After winning the 2016 tournament championship under current head coach Steve Axtell, the Red Dragons placed first in the 2017 regular season standings, but fell short in the tournament semifinals against Plattsburgh, 3-1. Cortland has won 18 SUNYAC tournament championships overall.

Chris Taylor enters his first season as head coach at Plattsburgh, looking to bring the Cardinals a championship for the first time since 2013. Plattsburgh has eight championships under its belt. In 2017, the Cardinals placed fifth in the regular season standings. In last year's SUNYAC tournament, Plattsburgh defeated Brockport 2-1 in the first round, and then went on to beat Cortland 3-1 in the semifinals. The team fell short in the championship game to Oneonta, 2-1.

2018 SUNYAC Men's Soccer Bracket

1. Oneonta, 79
2. Cortland, 75
3. Plattsburgh, 57
4. Buffalo State, 54
5. Geneseo, 51
6. Brockport, 39
7. New Paltz, 33
8. Oswego, 22
9. Potsdam, 21
10. Fredonia, 19

Did they put new turf in or is it the same stuff I played on almost 10 years ago? Their updated facilities do look nice!

I'm very surprised Buff State is hosting. Last time I was there their turf was terrible and locker room/athletic training rooms were a mess. This was back in 2012 so I don't know if anything has changed but it looks like their turf definitely has not.

Looks like only one team from LL will get a bid this year.

Also looks like curtains for anyone not named Cortland, Oneonta or Plattsburgh in terms of a possible Pool C bid out of the SUNYAC.

Doesn't Buffalo State look pretty good too?

Buff State lost to Geneseo in their playoff game and Plattsburgh just beat Cortland yesterday to move on to the finals. I would think that Plattsburgh moves ahead of them
