The rumors of names at Lax are a plenty.

Regardless who gets that gig, the WIAC will become an even tougher league. Crazy to think the league can get even better.

Anyone know if Baumgartner from Medford has committed to UWSP? I heard he was about to a few days ago.

Had the opportunity to watch Logan play football this Fall. He's one heck of a quarterback. No doubt that he's his father's son!!

Job posted this week.

Closes mid-May.

Hire made by mid-June.

School begins September.

Good call. My bad. Position was posted Wednesday.

The "Continuous Recruitment First Review Date" is coming up on the 18th. Interestingly, there is no actual close date, but applicants who apply prior to the 18th will have preference. Pretty quiet and not much public speculation (or interest on the boards?) thus proving Point's HC job is much bigger than the La Crosse job?

I've heard a possible former D1 head coach and a former lead WIAC assistant coach as names.

Rod Payne from UWRF has committed to Western Illinois.  Tough blow for the Falcons.

Wow. That's a 180. I thought it was posted he was withdrawing his name from the portal and returning to River Falls.

It was, Payne did post on his social media he was withdrawing from the portal and heading back to UWRF.  Around that time, I was told that the basketball program was working on NIL money to keep Payne at UWRF.  It's possible that fell through or Western Illinois came in late with an offer Payne couldn't refuse.

It was so brutal this year Oshkosh is doing a redo on their SID search after just one year.

That's an understatement....  Look, I totally get that there were BIG shoes to fill in that position with the quality of work that the previous SID did, but I don't think anyone expected things to drop off as much as they did!

What do you expect though when more and more SID jobs are being filled by Graphic Designers who specialize in graphics and videos and less on the actual writing piece?

With a salary of $34-46K, do they really think they are going to attract someone who is good, much less that will stay beyond using UWO as a stepping stone.  Pay a decent salary you might get a quality person with media experience that really gets it!!!  At that pay, keep on the revolving door/treadmill.

This is exactly it. Being a good SID is a lot of work and a lot of hours. Pay is way too low to get any quality.
