If there is no change to the schedule (days they will be playing) I think I can guarantee it will not be Calvin.  They have a strict rule against playing games on Sundays.

I'm going with Christopher Newport -- the Captains have been in some tough 5-setters of late (want to see them join Emory. Juniata and Wash/MO as champs.)

I walked over and watched Juniata take down St. Thomas 3-0.  I love having the tournament on campus.  I do not know much about this game, but St. Thomas looked good through the first two, while Juniata seemed to get better and better throughout the match and looked unstoppable in the third.

My novice prediction is, however, that Juniata will not be able to win it all playing as they did today.

Calvin takes a feisty but overmatched Massachusetts-Boston, 3-1.

Obviously everyone knows the scores from yesterday.

Yesterday was a lot of fun.  I talked to several fans from opposing teams.  The Calvin fans were particularly excited and had twice the crowd as the other visiting teams.  And, supposedly, many more are headed down today.

Whoa, Just saw that Calvin has knocked off Juniata in 5!

I am very sad to report that Emory has knocked off Washington University, 4-1.  The Bears played almost-perfect in the first set, but the Eagles were the better team. 

It is bad form, usually, to suggest that the tournament was decided in the semi-final, but I have no idea how Calvin will stand a chance against Emory.

Having watched Juniata play a few times this year, I am not completely surprised that Calvin was able to rally.  This will not be the case on Monday.

Too bad Chris. Newport and Emory met as early as they did. That 5-setter they played would have made an awesome final.

The Lady Knights just won set 1 25-14, so I'm guessing they are "standing a chance".

That is sports for you.  I think I said something similar when Washington University was down 2-1 to Hope College in the semi-finals last year.

Calvin takes the second, but Emory fires back in the third, winning 25-19.  I regret not going to this game, considering it is 1,000 feet from my office and I had a ticket.
