Very cool, Go Thunder. How does the video quality compare to just hooking up your laptop straight to the TV?  My laptop has HDMI out so I just plug it right into my TV and watch streamed games that way. The issue I've had is if it's in HD on ESPN3 it sometimes gets pixelated like my laptop/internet isn't fast enough to handle it.

The quality is as good as the camera allows.  Elmhurst was very clear while Wheaton clips on youtube there was a bit of pixalation due to the camera quality.  The device "ROKU 3 and mid speed wireless router" is much faster than streaming on the computer.  The computer is not directly used so computer speed does not effect video quality and is only used to maintain the settings.
I stream high definition all the time and never have a problem.  If you can watch HD using basic cable using  that same line should be ok.

Why does North Park host Carthage and travel to Rock Island in 2014 when that was the same scenario from 2013?

Because, if I remember correctly, the conference schedule remains the same for two years now (so two years home, then two years away), instead of home one year, away the next.
CCIW FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS '06-'07-'08-'09-'10-'11-'12-'13
CCIW  MEN"S INDOOR TRACK CHAMPIONS: TOTAL DOMINATION SINCE 2001.
CCIW MEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK CHAMPIONS: 35
NATIONAL CHAMPIONS: INDOOR TRACK-'89,'10,'11,'12/OUTDOOR TRACK: '89,'94,'98,'00,'10,'11
2013 OAC post season pick-em tri-champion
2015 CCIW Pick-em co-champion

I believe this question was also posed last year without a reasonable answer ever forthcoming.
Last year NCC hosted Millikin, Carthage, and Augie, and will do so again this season. They visited Elmhurst, NPU, and Wheaton, and will travel to all 3 again in 2014.

Apparently, playing a team at home and on the road in alternate years is too difficult of a concept for CCIW Conference administrators to grasp. It seems logical, but maybe thats the problem.  ;)   ::)

Except, in NCC's case they are hosting IWU this year after playing in B-town last season.
Not sure if its like this for all the teams or not.
In at least one case then, the policy appears inconsistent.

OK, true, it is not a full two year cycle. I had been mulling getting a gathering of souls to witness the zeal and anger of the west-side Vikings when they visited the east side this fall.

Contra NCF, it's not a clean four-year cycle of two-home, two-away versus a specific opponent. Rather, it's a two-year cycle in which the cycle has no relationship to the cycle before it or the cycle after it. That makes the break between cycles look random, as I will illustrate two paragraphs down with NPU's sked.

It's a little different in the case of NCC @ NPU. The Vikings visited North Central out of turn in 2011 by NCC's request so that the Cardinals would have a home game on the weekend that the school celebrated its 150th anniversary. NCC thus had to make that up by giving North Park an extra home game in the series at some point; this coming October 11 will mark the third straight season that the Cardinals have visited Chicago's 40th Ward.

This season marks the start of a new two-year cycle, or at least it appears to be a new cycle in light of NPU's schedule. Last year the Vikings were home against Elmhurst and Wheaton, and away at Illinois Wesleyan and Millikin, and this year those four games are reversed. However, as Mark Erickson pointed out, the Vikes visited the Quad Cities last season, and they'll be visiting them again this coming season, while Carthage will be coming to Hedstrand Field for the second season in a row.

I'm very concerned about the Titan skill positions.  QB Gallik graduated, as did our top four RBs and top three receivers.  Who is going to step up to fill those vacancies?

I'm especially concerned about QB, as the only other guy who played did not strike me as CCIW-quality (at least certainly not yet, but I didn't really see signs he was likely to grow into that anytime soon.  Our best hope may be that an incoming freshman can do a good TD Conway imitation.  (Geez, it feels odd to hope a Titan can imitate a North Park football player - how the worm has turned! :o)

Valid concerns Mr. Ypsi. Here are a few reasons to go into the season with your glass half full:

1) The Titans actually have a 2nd team All-CCIW receiver returning in Artie Checcin. He led the team in receptions last season.
2) Losing Gallik is a huge blow no doubt; however, the other QB you referenced appeared to have benefitted from getting the majority of reps in spring practice. They also have some stud QB recruits coming in; including a kid from Willowbrook who made some all-state teams and set a state passing record last year and a kid from Hersey who was their conference's Player of the Year. They have some other options as well, but this will be the first time in several years  that the position won't be locked up heading into training camp.
3) They actually have several good RB's who were "waiting in the wings" last year backing up the two great seniors (Jones and Stinde) returning. This includes a kid named Roberts who averaged 7.7 yards per carry in limited duty last season, who showed real improvement this spring.

Hopefully this is a reload instead of a rebuild year. They have two lockdown cornerbacks coming back, a stud linebacker in Klein returning and what might be the best d-line in the conference, so hopefully the defense can keep them in games while the offensive skill position players adjust to their roles, similar to the 2011 season when they made the play-offs.

The Titans have 5 CCIW All-Conference position players returning, as well as the 1st Team All-CCIW kicker, punter and return specialist, so hopefully the cupboard isn't too bare.

Thanks, you've made me feel better!  The receiving is not as depleted as I thought - I had either misread (or misremembered) the roster listing as Artie being yet another senior.  Now if we can just find someone who can get them the ball. ;)

Mr. Ypsi

The D3 Football preseason top 25 is up.  NCC is #6, Wheaton is #24, and IWU just misses at the equivalent of #27.

No other CCIW team received any votes.

NPU has a new assistant head coach. Dale Carlson, who has served as a college head coach for 25 years (Lakeland, Taylor, Trine, Ohio Dominican, and Valparaiso), has just joined the Vikings staff. He played his college ball at Concordia (IL), got his master's from Chicago State, and Elmhurst was among the three schools he served as an assistant coach before landing his first head-coaching gig at Lakeland. He was the initial head coach when Trine and Ohio Dominican started up their programs; he took Trine to the NAIA national semifinals (where he lost to Mike Conway's Olivet Nazarene team), and he took Ohio Dominican to the NAIA playoffs as well.

NPU has a very young collection of assistants, so it's good to get an experienced old hand in there with them. Mike Conway's pretty excited about adding Dale Carlson to his staff.
