The ring fund pays for other sports as well. While I was there, we had a swimmer named Eddis who won the National Title in an event, and as a result the AD ordered him a National Championship ring from the Championship Ring fund. Great guy that AD!!

This from ESPN.com coverage of Shrine Game Day 2:

Cecil Shorts, Mount Union: He was 150 pounds coming out of high school and ignored by recruiters, which is how he ended up at Division III Mount Union. He doesn't have a chip on his shoulder, he has a block. Thing is, he uses that energy well. At almost 6-foot and 190 pounds, he's solidly built and put together well. He has strong arms and good hands. He's quick and catches the ball away from his frame. He drops an occasional pass, but he doesn't let the ball get into his body and he gets upfield in a hurry. He hurt his hamstring on Wednesday, but he's already proven he belongs here.

Not many individual performances stand out to me. Blake Elliott for certain, but a RB from UW- Lacrosse, Macadlo I believe, or something like that, That was the most impressive performance for me.
