NCC RECRUIT

North Central tonight received a huge commitment, and is happy to announce that they have landed 6'7" 220 lb. F/C Sam Fehrle from Rockford Boylan HS. Sam averaged 13.0 PPG, 7.0 PRG, and 2.6 APG for a very good 27-3 Titans team. He shot 52% from the field, including 33% from three, and 81.1% from the line.
Sam is a versitile player who is expected to see action at both the 4 and 5 for the Cardinals. During the time he mans the center spot, 6'8" 1st team all-conference Alex Sorenson, who led the CCIW in 3 point shooting percentage, can move outside and pop from the corner.
Sam chose North Central over Augustana after a recent weekend stay on the Augie campus.

Hey Elmhurst we need some bigs as well as guards. Let's go before they are all taken.

Was wondering if anyone would pick up on the Titans reference. 😏
The truth is he had enough of the rather bland green Kool-Aid, and wanted to try something a little more flavorful. The blue flavored option came wrapped in Grey packaging which, as many can imagine, was not very appealing. Thus the choice of the red flavored option, packaged more attractively, and having a bit more of a kick. 😮 😎 🙂

How dare you?! :o

Green Kool-Aid is the cat's meow.  I should know - I drink it regularly! ;D

That red stuff reminds me of mosquito guts when I slap one that has already feasted on me. ::)

NCC RECRUIT

North Central tonight received a commitment from, and is glad to welcome to the team, 6'6" 240 lb. C/PF Jack Clausel from Newark, IL HS. Jack, an AP Class 1A 2nd team All-State selection, averaged 15.8 PPG, and 7.8 RPG for his 28-3 Elite Eight team. He shot 52.7% from the field, including 36.1% from three, and 73.5% from the line. He scored over 1,400 points during his HS career.
Jack was on NCC's radar from early on, and eventually narrowed his choices to the Cardinals and fellow CCIW member Millikin.

Your gibe at Giovanine aside, the reality is that Augustana is probably an unappealing choice at this stage for senior bigs not because of the coach but because of the class. With four centers or power forwards listed at 6'6 or 6'7 who've already given verbals (if not deposits as well) to Augie, each of whom has four years of eligibility remaining, I would imagine that most kids wouldn't want to be a late-arriving part of that logjam.

In truth, neither the pre-existing logjam at the center and power forward positions, nor the fact that the Vikings are led by almost everyone's most beloved conference personality, were major factors in Sam's choice of the Cardinals. Although he was certainly reminded of Augie's plethora of recruits at the positions that he will man, Sam has both the skill and confidence to believe that he would be able to prevail over the competition. As far as the coaching goes, lets just say Sam has the intelligence to form his own opinion as to which of the involved personalities would be the most compatible with his own.
Instead, Sam's decision resulted primarily from the facts that NCC established a relationship with him early on, he meshed well with both the NCC recruiters, and his future teammates, and he saw an opportunity to make a significant contribution while playing two different positions in a system conducive to his talents.

I come in peace...I'm a Stevens Point fan and normally stick to the WIAC board and Wisconsin basketball players.  I have heard that UWSP has gotten a commit from Jontrell Robinson, played his high school ball at Rockford East and moved onto win a D3 Junior College National Championship with Rock Valley College this past season.  I have done a little digging and haven't come up with much on the type of player he is.  Seems like a good athlete who is a lockdown defender but struggles on the offensive end.  Any other information you guys can add would be appreciated, thanks.

Gregory Sager

That's exactly the kind of player UWSP is getting, tomt. He's a highly athletic 6'5 glove who won't get you much in the way of offense, but will be a solid addition to the rotation of the Pointers. NPU was on him, too.
