FYI...Beaudrie is coming back to Mount!
I suspected/hoped that this would be the case. Really looking forward to seeing the Raiders with Beaudrie at the helm.

Why didn't Otterbein attempt an onside kick on the 2nd half KO. Might as well try it?
I asked the same question. Maybe they don't have an onside kick in their playbook.
They were kicking from Mount Union's 35 yard line. What good does a touchback do you? Run a surprise onside or squib kick and maybe get a lucky bounce?
No wonder they are 0-8, where did they get this coach. For him, it should be one and done. Otterbein's AD needs to step up for next year. How could both Capital and Otterbein be so pathetic given their location in Central Ohio. There are so many athletes there that do not go to OSU.

Very unimpressed with the Raiders. At this point I'm not sure they can win the conference.

Mount Union Men's Basketball team defeated Oshkosh-by-Gosh in the Elite Eight.
They'll play Whitewater in the Final Four.
All I know is MT hasn't seen a team like UWW (for old times sake).

Dr. A,
You must at times feel lonely on this board. Just want to let you know I enjoy reading your recaps and opinions.
Mount worries me. They just don't seem to play up to their potential. They do so in spirts, but not consistently throughout the game. As a result they have close games against teams they should blow out. If they make the NCAA tournament this will hurt them. That's a big "if" as JCU and the Berg, I'm sure, have other ideas.

Mount Union "offering" the Jackson State backup QB with one year of eligibility is an interesting thing. Should know pretty soon about the guys that are coming back in '23 and those that are graduating
Wait is that a thing?
its the Transfer Portal trickle down. I have seen "commitment" videos from high school kids with 5 D3 college logos, what a world
I mean are you saying hypothetically that would be interesting, or did mount union actually recruit the jackson st qb?

D3 "offers" are meaningless, but obviously there was some contact. The kid seems to move around a bunch, I'm in the Plunk '23 camp
Ohhh I did a search for their 2nd string qb "JP Andrade" and didn't see anything. Was quite confused. Thanks for the clarification. The guy with the offer definitely seems more like a d3 recruit than the player I was researching lol.
JP Andrade was a walk on QB at Ohio State I think. Either way, I'm all for competition, but feel like Beaudrie will bring a different dimension to the offense next year if he's the guy. He's more Kevin Burke/Tayrice Scott than Plunk. It looks like Picarillo (kicker) and Chisolm (Oline) are looking to transfer with 1 year left. Have to imagine the young guys that have been waiting are coming at the bit for a starting opportunity.
Another vote for Beaudrie. Plunk has had his opportunity. Time to move forward with a more dynamic, less predictable offense.

I posed this question on the CCIW board wrt NCC guys maybe deciding to go ahead and move on and graduate since they won. If I were MU guys I'd be thinking the opposite. "We are CLOSE. If we all come back we may just be favorites to win it all."
But as a Dad, putting myself in one of those player's shoes, it may be whether a path is presently unhindered, or a door is open, to a successful "real life" beyond that of a player.
I respect and love them all, and only wish them the best. So many in the coaching ranks make me smile every Saturday and Sunday. So many that I do not see what they are doing today would probably make that smile immensely bigger ... if I only knew.
When the NCAA announced that players would get an extra year because of COVID I thought it was a good thing, but my thinking has changed. While the extra year seems fair to those who can take advantage, it is unfair to those who came into the program after them. They, in effect, are losing a year by being behind a returning 5th year player. And it could potentially harm the program when talented underclassmen leave for other schools where they have a better chance of playing. As much as I've enjoyed watching these seniors play, I hope they will elect to get on with their lives.

A tip of the hat to North Central. A great team and a well deserved win.
Central lived up to their billing; Mount's Defense played very well; but the Offense just wasn't in the game the first half. Too one dimensional, and for awhile there was a loss of composure. The Offense has to get better and so does Coach Dart. I'm confident they will.
Next year in Salem!
