Griffinalum

Fontbonne University,  St. Louis, Missouri

Overall Record
:  18-9  (Conference record 14-2)

Finished first in the SLIAC and won the conference tournament to get in the NCAA's through pool A.

Starters:  Bramel, Collier, Schilli, Ludwig, and April.

Top Reserves:  Boyd, Wilmas, and Johnson.

Key Wins
:  didn't really have any big wins, biggest wins came in conference, sweeping Westminster (MO) and Webster.

Key Losses:  Lost to Washington (MO) 53-96, Lost to Millikin 52-59.  Worst loss game in conference to Greenville College 70-77 at Greenville.

Season Summary/Tournament outlook:  Fontbonne struggled early to say the least.  They played some good schools in their non-conference schedule, and they really struggled.  Before Christmas, they were playing just really poor basketball, but since the New Year they have been a completely different team.  They have only lost one game in 2010 (58-62 at Blackburn College on Jan. 6) and have won 14 in a row.  It is still going to be tough for Fontbonne in the NCAA tournament just like it always is for teams from the SLIAC, but their coach has been there before and he will do his best to get the girls prepared for Thomas More as best he can.

Season summary/tournament outlook

Illinois Wesleyan will make its fourth straight appearance in the NCAA Division III tournament and its seventh overall.
The Titans have won the CCIW for three years in a row.

The 2009-10 Titans are an extremely athletic team, with depth at every position.  They have been ranked among the top d3 teams all season, and spent several weeks at #1.  They are currently ranked #3.  Their high pressure defense sparks their offense.  Senior center Christina Solari, a pre-season d3hoops First Team All American, leads the team in scoring and rebounding, and also contributes assists, steals, and blocks.  Hope Schulte at small forward provides a good presence both inside and out, while guard Nikki Preston is the team's leading 3-point shooter.

You'll never walk alone.
