I think that has to be Tufts.  Everyone is back on O including Woodson who can move to WR potentially.  Berluti will have lots more experience.  D could have everyone back too as the top six guys are seniors with eligibility left.  If most of those guys return they can only get better on D, right?   If they can find a kicker, that alone is probably worth two more wins!  I don't see anyone else remotely close on paper.

Heard rumblings that Tufts has a few key players going to enter transfer portal to D2 any truth to that ?

LOL D2 "Transfer portal"  ??? ???

Dave Murray was viewed as the savior of the Hamilton program when hired 8 years ago. In 7 seasons his record is 18-43. He has never had a winning record. Didn't realize Hamilton Football has not had a winning season since 1996. I recall some very good teams back in the mid 80's but have overlooked their futility thereafter.
I believe there could be some rumblings among Buff 'n Blue alums who have always been a pretty vocal group.
Murray was a winner in his prior coaching tenures and had great credentials coming in but seems to have made little progress with the Hamilton program.

Hamilton is in the market for an offensive coordinator. Joe Gilbert and Herb Hand have been contacted.

We actually laughed out loud at that one...

How could you forget Seamus Crotty? ;D Mention of Joe Gilbert brings back memories of going against that beast of a man back in the day.

Hamilton, while a great school and a beautiful campus, is a tough sell to recruits. No history of recent success, and long bus rides to play other schools just to lose. When Union got kicked out of NESCAC, they lost their natural rival (and what a great rivalry it was), and now seem to be adrift. Not sure who could change that culture there.

It doesn't move the needle a ton, but his 18-43 is better than the 11-45 of the previous seven years.

Big day in the NESCAC football world today...we expect that the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year and HCOF of the Year to be announced today along with the 2021 All-League Teams.

As a reminder, NESCACMAN picks:

Offensive Player of the Year: Bobby Maimaron, TTUN
Defensive Player of the Year: Nick Helbig, Wesleyan
Offensive Rookie of the Year: Andre Eden, Bowdoin
Defensive Rookie of the Year: Tomas Kenary, Middlebury
HCOF of the Year: Mark Raymond, TTUN

BigKat

exciting stuff;) Berluti wins OROY but like your other choices.

I think DPOY of the year is a close race between Devine, Hooks, Rothmann and Helbig, but I'm going to say Rothmann wins it and deservingly so.  He was an absolute rock for by far the best defensive team in the league, out there for every meaningful play and he was incredibly versatile, playing very different roles to compensate for whatever guys on the defense were injured.  And by the way, the Eph defensive dominance was all the more impressive considering how many top defensive players missed multiple games to injury (Wesner, Coleston Smith, Devine, Josh Wax, plus some important subs like Landolfi).

Looking to next year, one reason to be rosy on Wesleyan and Williams vs. Trinity (although all three certainly will go into the season as co-favorites and appropriately so) is that Wes and Williams seemed to have worse injury luck than the Bantams, who, I believe, had virtually all of its key guys out there for pretty much every game.  Those types of things tend to even out from year to year.

Helbig was not fully healthy. In the last 4 games, he was an absolute monster. Have they done co-players of the year in the past?

The lack of consistency amongst the all-league awards continues to blow my mind. Not that any of this matters but the 2019 Ephs (7-2) had 12 All-League players. The 2021 Ephs that went 9-0 and lead the league in scoring offense and scoring defense had 10.

Where do you have the 2019 Ephs on your all-time team list?

These are individual awards though. There shouldn't be a formula for how many players get recognized per team based on standings. Williams still had the most players recognized, and Hamilton (6) and Bowdoin (4) had a few players recognized despite they're records...

For what it's worth, here's the breakout of All-league players by school:

Williams   11
Trinity   10
Wesleyan   8
Middlebury   7
Tufts   6
Amherst   6
Hamilton   6
Bowdoin   4
Bates   3
Colby   1

SpringSt7

No there shouldn't but you do also think a Williams defense that held opponents to 10 points a game is only deserving of 4 all-league defenders?

I've said this every year, maybe at some point I'll get over it and move on, but the people choosing the awards can't just pick and choose when they want to highlight individual stats and when they want to highlight team success.

I understand that it is not a perfect ratio nor should it be---the league is very imbalanced when it comes to positional depth---some positions have 25 guys worthy of recognition and some have 3, so I get that. I just struggle with the lack of consistency at times.
