Conference play opens up next week so here's the place to chat. Luther vs Loras for the title again, right?

Central and Dubuque for the title, 2 games into conference play  ;)

I like the sound of that. Go Spartans!

When was the last time neither Luther, nor Loras, nor Wartburg were in the top 3 in the conference?

I'm not terribly surprised by Loras.   They looked decent against Chicago but that's about it.  There seems to be a power shift going on in the conference.

UD has apparently stolen a page from North Park's book and hit the recruiting trail in Scandinavia.  They've got 7 Swedes and a Norwegian on the roster, plus a couple Germans.  So far it appears to be paying off.

Wasn't there a season just recently where Loras started in a hole, and then they woke up and tore through the rest of the conference?  Maybe that will happen again this year.  Sometimes when you have a sustained period of success it takes a punch in the mouth to get motivated again to play to your level.  Or...maybe other schools, like Dubuque, have just upped their game like you say.

I mentioned on the air during the Dubuque @ North Park broadcast that it was the first time in the 38-year history of the NPU soccer program that the Vikings had played a team that had more Swedes on the roster than they did. NPU only has six of 'em this season.

Six of Dubuque's seven Swedes are freshmen, and the seventh is a sophomore. They're a talented bunch. Dubuque's future is bright.

Dubuque tallied four goals in the first 21 minutes in night action at the Rock Bowl and lead 4-1 over Loras with 38 minutes to play.

UD and Loras all tied up at 4-4 now.  Epic collapse by the Spartans?

Yep, that about covers it.  Duhawks prevail 5-4 in OT.

Dubuquer

And that's all, folks. Loras comes back from being down 4-0 and wins 5-4 in OT.  That was nuts!

American Rivers Conference dominating this year!

Anyone have an idea why St Norbert moved up to 4th?  They beat a mediocre team 1-0 since last poll where they were 6th.

St Thomas and Gustavus Adolphus seem like they should still be above St Norbet.

It's because of ranked team record. St Thomas 0-3-1 and Norbert 2-1. Last week ranking did not include R v R..

Spot on Rudy. Its due to the results vs. ranked opponents.

What is a bit baffling is that UST is still positioned above GAC and Dubuque, even though they didn't win a single one of those matches.

Gustavus needs to step up their scheduling next year, pretty disappointing Non-conference slate this year, IMO.

ARC having a great year, they should see multiple teams in the NCAA's.
