I am not sure how many people are aware, but there is a new show dedicated to Division III that I have put together with support from D3sports.com and the NCAA. It's called The #WhyD3 Show and it's first episode debuted in late September. It is a monthly show dedicated to student-athletes, coaches, administrators, teams, programs, conferences, and others and what they are doing off the fields and courts and the difference they are making in their communities or as students. We also take a look at the topics and challenges that face the division including what is now an annual "State of Division III" with Vice President Dan Dutcher (major portion of the debut episode).

I won't go on and on about the show here, but here are some links for more information:

We are always asking for story ideas, videoes already put together, and plenty more. Also, we want to know why student-athletes love or chose Division III, but in just three words (www.d3sports.com/whyd3show/three-words).

And as we work to put together November's episode, we should note that the show will be dedicated in the honor of Jack Copeland who died suddenly last week. Jack was instrumental in helping The #WhyD3 Show get off the ground and supporting it at the NCAA level. He was more than willing to send story ideas, help with promotion, and encourage the idea of a show dedicated to the student-athletes of Division III. Jack was also instrumental behind the Discover, Develop, Dedicate campaign for Division III and was a huge proponent of the division. While I only got to meet and know Jack on a personal level starting in September, I knew of him and his work much longer. His influence and status in the division was well known and respected and he will be missed. Division III and the NCAA has lost a great advocate and devoted man. Thank you... hope you can check out the show on occasion... and we look forward to feedback and ideas.

You might want to plug this on some of the seasonal sports boards too - not a whole lot of people come here these days.

Yeah... I know... just not one to spam the boards either.
