Haven't posted in a long while but curious from the guys who watch and follow the league - who's leading candidate for POY at this point?  I did just see Greg's post regarding Bosko's post game comment.

Likin' that comment A Rocks !!

Appreciate the input Greg - I had heard he had handled Augie's pressure extremely well in the Elite 8 game so wanted to see him if I could in the Final 4.

Your analysis makes much sense - hopefully he has a terrific senior year in 2016/2017

Avid posters help me out here - I only watched about 10 minutes of any D3 tournament games this year and that was during the final.  I was extremely impressed with the left handed PG from St Thomas - very smart, good with the ball and showed the ability to score on all three levels just in the half of a half I watched.  Just looked up his stats for the year - also excellent.

How does he not merit any All American recognition?  I want to say his numbers are very comparable to Hunter Hill who is a first teamer.

Only saw them play maybe three times on video but very apparent they didn't have a guy who was an attacker playing downhill

GS - gained respect for Coach Slyder for recognizing and taking care of the issue in house.  Absolute right thing to do.

And you're comparison of Barach and Henry is nuts on - two totally different but outstanding players, having played against one and seen the other on the net.

Thanks WUH - just started reading again so missed the posts when it happened

General flavor on the Bosko / Henry riff is that Bosko is in the wrong.  Not going to take sides because who cares what another poster thinks?

Haven't seen where anyone is making any noise about attempting a 3 point shot at the buzzer with your team up 7 - from where I come from that is not only disrespecting the game but the entire Carthage squad.

This type of stuff starts beanball wars in baseball - an extreme bat flip while admiring a bomb gets you nailed in the ribs on your next AB.

Mr. Henry's next "AB" took place at the all conference selection meeting.

If that happened and I was the NPU coach, I would have had Mr Henry apologize to the opposing coach afterwards - many of you may laugh at that but what comes around goes around in this game.

At the end of the day a fantastic player made a bad decision in just a split second - not a big deal, nobody got hurt.

But maybe Mr Henry learned a life lesson - disrespecting someone may have consequences.

Interesting thoughts and angles from all of the posters regarding All Conference and MOP - as I don't follow D3 as much now as I used to, I thought I'd take a few minutes to research the three D1 conferences I follow heavily: Big East (10 teams), Big 12 (10 teams) , and Big 10 (14 teams)

Last year no player was first team all conference from a team finishing in the bottom 1/2 in the standings

However in the Big East and Big 12 the POY or Co POY did not play on the team finishing in first place (Kris Dunn in the BE and Buddy Hield in the Big 12)

This year Kris Dunn (BE), Buddy Hield (B 12) and Denzel Valentine (B 10) could very likely be conference POYs and their respective squads will not win the league

So as it relates to the CCIW - as these data points illustrate, pretty tough to get the two studs from NPU on 1st team but there's probably no way Henry shouldn't be at a minimum CO POY

Per all WIAC discussion - Staege will be co-POTY with White.  LAX won the league and Staege ranks high in many statistical categories.

White's stats off the charts per BW's post, so should be included despite WW not being in the top half of the league

A Rocks - maybe since SNC is hosting they wanted their teams playing back to back so as to potentially keep more fans in the building.  Plus they also wanted a start time of 6PM to allow more people to attend.

And totally agree on the disadvantage to the Game # 2 winner - good point.

BW - not that it matters but Staege has been on UWL's roster for 3 years.  Believed he transferred from EC where he was playing football.

And regarding your comment regarding the talent level, totally agree but as I have posted before, I don't think there are as many transfers from D2 and D1 schools as in prior years - that makes a huge difference in a D3 league.

For what it's worth DP nailed the old scheduling format

Back in the 70s we played at Carthage on a Friday then went to Carroll on Saturday.  From what I can remember, Carroll did not play the night before, so no travel partner.

We always hosted Carroll on Saturday and never played the night before.

Even had a few Thursday league games - but I remember those being in December.

Just reading some of the comments from Coach Koelbl and D McHugh -

As a former heavier poster who no longer follows the league like I did in the past, there's no doubt the WIAC is very competitive but it's tough to convince me the league is better talent wise.

Back in the time period of say 2009 - 2013, "transfer backs" from mainly D2 schools populated many of the team's rosters.

Are there as many former D1 / D2 players currently playing in the WIAC?
