FWIW, I'd put Fletcher and Anderson above Garcon. Anderson was league MVP. Fletcher was a constant team captain, and pro bowl caliber linebacker for a solid decade, even if he was overlooked in multiple season. He was a 2x All Pro. And a Super Bowl champ. From wikipedia:

QuoteFletcher was well known for never missing a game in his career, being one of only five players in NFL history to play in over 250 consecutive games. Fletcher also holds the record for consecutive starts at the linebacker position. He eventually finished his career with 215 consecutive games started, which ties him for 6th all time along with Alan Page and Ronde Barber.

Also, Fred Jackson from Coe.

Also, John Cena. I'm no WWE fan, but by any measure, he's been ridiculously successful in the entertainment industry. His 'Q score' is probably top 5 on the current list.

I like the John Cena addition, not sure about Jackson.  If he gets some more support, he will make the list.....

Agreed about the rank, but he did rise to the top in his chosen field, so for now he stays in the top 23...

Foley is one of the GOAT big school ADs and some of the work he did to promote women's athletics while helping UF accomplish major success in the early 2000s is noteworthy.

Other famous Hobart FB alums, aside from the obvious like Ali, who've made it big in entertainment, finance, etc. would probably have to include:

Christopher McDonald 77 (aka Shooter McGavin)
John Hogan 89 (was Chief Risk Officer for Jaime Dimon at Chase for a bit)
Pierre McGuire 83 (played QB for two years while being a hockey standout)
Babe Kraus '24 (pro player and bart FB and Lax coach)
Craig Stine '81 (Credit Suisse)

I just looked up "Shooter"  he played football and soccer?  since we can't completely stack the list with Bart guys, give your vote for top 2 most successful (limit to guys that played 4 years of football, Ali may end up bumping someone..)

Dave Urick too (played for Cortland but was a legend at Hobart for Lax)

Interesting.  I also noticed Don Brown (Also could make maybe a top 100 list as he played at Norwich) was an assistant football coach at Yale and was the baseball coach there for one year as well.  Random.

Thanks to Oline for keeping the content active. Football is finally "above the fold" and Basketball has moved down the D3 Boards. You can almost sense the season. ;D

Ithaca QB situation, I've heard the Joe G transfer was about more than just play calling unhappiness, and I creates a really interesting situation there. Do they sit Nabi for a year and play Joe G, and would Nabi be a good soldier and take it? I don't know if that type of distraction is good for a locker room.

#1  Definitely the QB situation in Ithaca.  I just can't get my head around this move by Ithaca staff, Joe G, anyone involved
#2  Is RPI the real deal?  Can they win the league for a third year in a row?
#3  This is the year for DeWall to show off his true coaching chops.  Half the team is his recruits, the Sr and Jr class is stacked with talent.  Two very strong QB's.  Hobart should compete in every game.
#4  U of R:  Can Coach Martinovich finally get this club going in the right direction

RPI is certainly reloading, and it depends on their depth readiness. Their defense was the strength of their team (really good), and they lose everyone but a couple LBs and couple DL to graduation, and many of the first guys off the bench were seniors as well.
They also lose most of their offense, returning a couple OL with significant playing time, the QB and a WR. The offense had talent, but the defense won them games. This year the offense will need to carry the team more than last year, and you can assume the defense will need time to develop during the first four non league games and may struggle versus good QBs.

Ithaca QB situation... Do they sit Nabi for a year and play Joe G?

Ask this:

Do you think the two-time East Region Offensive Player of the Year, who was an HM AA in 2017, is going to transfer somewhere if he thinks he's to spend his final year of eligibility as a backup? I don't pretend for a second to know Joe or Swanstrom's thought process, but I'm just guessing that they spoke about this before it happened, and Joe got an answer he liked enough to make the switch.

To be honest though, I don't even think that's Ithaca's biggest issue heading into the season. At the end of the day, they have talent at the most important position in football. But they have got to figure out something on special teams, because I think it's completely accurate to say that's cost them the last two LL titles. In both RPI tilts, the Engineers swung the game by decisively winning the special teams battle.

In 2017, it was a series of great punts by them, and poor ones by Ithaca, that led to a field position disaster the Bombers' defense had no hope of winning.

In 2018, RPI's offense did exactly nothing against IC, (9 first downs, 162 yards) but a long punt return set up their only touchdown, and the Bombers missed the extra point at the end, leading up to the 2 point conversion attempt.

There are other questions for the Bombers to answer, but I think they've got to get better at special teams in they want to take the next step

Definitely a slow news day when Rochester comes up as a top 4 'interesting story line'.

Gotta agree here. Ithaca's offense wasn't quite an offensive juggernaut last year. I'd imagine getting this caliber player(with the experience to boot) kind of dropped on your lap is pretty welcoming. If he was trying to replace an All-American or something it's a different story, but probably would've looked elsewhere in that case. I think this makes Ithaca extremely dangerous and gives not only potential to win the LL, but to be recognized in the National conversations. Package that with a stud receiver returning(I think he's returning?), LTFO!

I've always viewed Ithaca as a tough defensive team for years now, with an erratic offense capable of 40 or 3 on any given day. If they bring the same D, I wouldn't be surprised if they walk through the LL. That pains me to say(not nearly as much if it said Union, but I would never say that cause they suck so bad), but could be a reality.
