Boys of Fall

Will this be the first football game played at Target Field? I know they have had a few soccer games but wasn't aware that they have hosted a football game yet.

Will one of the SJU/UST baseball games be played at US Bank Stadium next year?

Make sure to say hello from all of us. And a report on proceedings would be much appreciated.
Have a good trip.
The program went well with a mini progress report on the team. The food was good. We had an opportunity to visit the new home of tailgating on campus. The new designated lot is in what I call the "Lower Athletic Complex" the new Gagliardi Field practice area, the Alpers Golf Center (seriously I don't think there is anything like this in D3 in the country) Haugen Field (baseball), Haws Field (Soccer) and Tennis Courts (I'm sure they have a name but I didn't walk down that far). There will be room for the kids to throw footballs & run around on Gaglardi Field. This fact alone should lessen the fire hazard with no balls in the vicinity of hot grills with the possibility of being tipped over by an errant throw. Five indoor restrooms available and portable biffs further down in the east side of the lot. Of course, there are plenty of tress to pee behind when the Tommies visit next year  :o There is no doubt the 180 or so parking spots will fill up,but they did in the previous two designated tailgating areas on campus.

Practice looked pretty crisp considering the guys have 6 sessions under their belts. There are open spots due to graduation,so the line up is no way cast in stone at this point.

All in all a pretty good day up at Collegeville.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Nice.  Thanks.  Can we ask a couple questions?

- Any details leap out at you from the mini progress report?  Has Clarke switched to defense?  Who's catching the ball?

- Were any transfers introduced or mentioned?

- Good jokes?  Tough without Gagliardi to deliver them.

I watch a lot of Twins baseball and I gotta say the Arizona Diamondback uniforms are butt ugly. - BDB

Nice.  Thanks.  Can we ask a couple questions?

- Any details leap out at you from the mini progress report? 1. Pretty general points being made, no specific names  not even returning starters. Has Clarke switched to defense? 2. Nope, he ran all plays at WR & looked really good. Made some nice moves-catches in 7 on 7.  Who's catching the ball?3. Clark, Gillach, Harrington, Essler, Streit, Auger,Barber. Matt Miller is lost with ACL, tough break as the kid was shining last year stepping in for the injured Harrington.

- Were any transfers introduced or mentioned? Nope

- Good jokes?  Tough without Gagliardi to deliver them. AD & Hall of Fame Golf Coach Bob Alpers is pretty funny. Explained in six degrees of separation style how he was almost  the head football coach, going back to his impressive record as the prep school JV coach in the early 80'. Funny stuff

A Chetek WI. boy was killed a couple months ago in a small plane crash. He wore 56 and played middle linebacker on the football team. Here's what happened when the team played their first game Friday night.

Ugh, that is not good news.  :'(

SJU ticket alert - I took the season ticket plunge this year. See it as a good excuse to support the program and get out of the house with my 2.5 year old a few times this fall. We won't be going to all games so if anyone is in need of two reserved seat tickets for any home games feel free to reach out. Going to try and make one of the first two home games and Homecoming, and won't be at the GAC game but all other games are toss ups.

2. There are a lot more attractive females that attend UST than attend SJU.

With all this talk of attractive Tommie females, why aren't we seeing some pics of the women you all have ended up with?    ???

Because posting pics would violate the terms of the restraining order! ;) ;D

With all of the forest fires around here, the sunrise was really orange. Just the beginning of a crazy "Sun" day out there! I have my eclipse glasses ready since we are expecting 98-99% totality here!

Yea, he's another big body WR to run the fade in the corners inside the red zone. Jared Streit on one side & Miller on the other side create match up problems in that scenario. Who do you double cover? How many D3 teams have multiple 6'5" CB to cover those two guys? That being said, the diversity of the WR,TE & RB is pretty impressive. Deep threats, over the middle, swing passes. It could get interesting. I'm anxious to see how the Oline gels, that will be key.

Shoot, lucky for us that won't be the case!  Probably wouldn't have even been worth it for the rest of the MIAC to show up!  Just throw it up to them every time, and, shucks, who do we double cover?

When it comes to Bethel, SJU prefers to just let the backup QB shred the Royal defense.

Good point.

Must've been forced to use the starter in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013?
