My congrats also to Cal Lu - they were clearly the better team today.  Tomorrow NCC gets a rematch against Mass-Boston, then (hopefully) another shot at the Kingsmen.

BTW, I'm a Tigers fan, and my all-time favorite manager (with the possible exception of Casey Stengel) is Sparky Anderson.  Is he a Cal Lu alum?  (With his being in the triumvirate of language-manglers [with Casey and Yogi], I never figured him for a college grad!  Or is there a more monetary reason for the naming of your field?

While listening to the Grand Chute PA announcer over the webcast, wouldn't it be nice to have an app for the PA announcer for his voice to sound like the late NY Yankees Announcer, Bob Sheppard?

The Cardinals take one on the beak, 14-5.  They play UMass Boston tomorrow, and the winner of that game will play Cal Lutheran tomorrow afternoon/evening.

Why other SLIAC schools keep totally quiet about their incoming new faces, I've never understood... putting it out there is such a positive even if one or two of the kids change their minds...

It would be interesting to know how ready and willing the coaches are to post the rosters...

Incidentally, the Washington University basketball roster was published especially early: http://bearsports.wustl.edu/sports/mbkb/2017-18/schedule

In my time, I have never seen the team play Principia or Westminster (in the regular season).  Also noteworthy is the fact that the team is opposite the schedule from Webster in the Lopata Classic.  The teams have played 25 times going back to 1985-1986 but that may not happen this season.

Just looked at the Wash U schedule and Webster plays Tufts in the first round of the Lopata. Tough game for Webster in a rebuilding year.

Nothing against West Region, but go CCIW - i.e., North Central. ;D

I have intense links to IWU, strong ties to my conference (CCIW), and only marginal links to my region (Central).

Congrats CLU on your win tonight!  14-5!

Having a fiendish thought while Jim, Pat and crew sit in the press box in Grand Chute...
What is the record for consecutive games completed in the D3 Championships without a rain delay?

Not sure where the W&L men finished, but I know they made the 36-hole cut.

14th.

And just like that in the end of the second OT period TCNJ strikes the golden goal winner. Bummed for W&L but they busted hump all game and played hard. Congratulations on an excellent season.
Congratulations to the W&L women on a fine season.  There was another runner-up spot for the ODAC last week when Wittenberg came from 4 strokes down after 14 holes to tie and then pass Guilford on the last hole at the DIII golf championship.  I think the Tigers had 4 golfers birdie the 18th to win by 2.  Not sure where the W&L men finished, but I know they made the 36-hole cut.

Game MAY have gone out of reach, as Cal Lu tacks on 4 more in the top of the 7th.  Schell gets them 1,2,3 in the top of the 8th, but the Cards trail 11-4 with only two more chances.

If I'm reading the bracket correctly, if NCC loses they will face UMass-Boston in a rematch at 1:15 tomorrow.  If they rally for a win, they would face the winner of Cal Lu/UMB at 7:45 tomorrow.
