As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

OMG!  It's the MIAC off-season, it's St. Patrick's Day, and aside from a comment on Red Cups this morning, not a single BEER post!  You guys are going soft - ya'll join the WCTU? :o

Or, maybe you share my opinion that green beer is an abomination, and an affront to nature.

Green beer is a disgrace.  Had few pint of Murphy's yesterday and was over served a few Irish whiskeys.  Had some Teeling, Irishman, and little Hell-Cat Maggie.  The head was a wee bit sore this morning.

Paddy has had a little too much to drink celebrating St Patrick's Day but nevertheless he foolishly decides to drive home.
Of course, his car is weaving all over the road and he gets pulled over by a cop.

The cop looks at him and says, "So, where have you been?"

Paddy slurs, "Why, I've been to the pub of course."

"Well," says the cop, "It look's like you've had quite a few to drink this evening."

"I did all right," replies Paddy with a smile.

The cop stands up straight and folds his arms across his chest, as he asks, "Did you know that a few intersections back your wife fell out of your car?"

Paddy says, "Oh, thank heavens! For a minute there, I thought I'd gone deaf."

Funny, our priest told this one too start his homily this morning!

St. Olaf Announces Football Staff

So, U$T South?

An important parable when making coaching hires (and something teams are finding out trying to hire Saban assistants in DI):

QuoteOne of the most important figures in quantum mechanics was the German physicist Max Planck. After he won the Nobel Prize for physics in 1918, he undertook a lecture tour of Germany.
Naturally enough the lectures he delivered to the various audiences were more or less identical, a fact that was noticed in due course by his chauffeur.
One day the driver said to him: "Professor Planck, I've heard you give the same lecture on quantum mechanics so many times that I now know it by heart. It must be very boring for you, so for tonight why don't we swap roles? I'll deliver the lecture and you sit in the audience and wear my chauffeur's cap."
Planck agreed and that evening the driver got up on stage and delivered the lecture flawlessly.
Then a member of the audience stood up and asked an incomprehensible question about quantum mechanics. Without hesitation the chauffeur said: "I'm surprised that someone from the renowned city of Munich could ask such a basic question. I will leave my chauffeur to answer it."
Charlie Munger, Warren Buffett's business partner, often tells this story. He uses it to illustrate the difference between real understanding of a subject – "Planck knowledge" – and the mere appearance of it, or "chauffeur knowledge".

Although I had some gigging opportunities on St. Patrick's day I decided to stay at home (not real fond of dragging expensive instruments into a bar with a bunch of drunken patrons), but instead woke up early on Saturday to have a good Irish breakfast at Keegan's; potatoes, tomato, mushrooms, eggs, bangers, rashers, and my favorite black pudding.  Wash that down with some coffee and a pint of Guinness and you're good to go all day.  Played in a session early Sunday and then off to the Dakota to catch the Eileen Ivers Band.  A pretty good St. Patrick's weekend.

I have no additional info but at the Johnnie Standup last Thursday it was a topic of conversation. During the athletics update a member of the coaching staff said people can stop asking him about as they essentially have a solution in place. Time will tell.

I'd like to see the Jays reschedule an old, local rival. It might be hard to get them on the schedule as neither school has a lot to gain from the game. And St John's might not want to put their winning record against them on the line. But I think the Stearns County community has been clamoring for this for the last 109 years. I guess the only question is Tech or Apollo?
