DePauw might not last very long in that poll with the way things are going tonight against Wittenberg.

DePauw levels affairs against Wittenberg with a Penalty Kick in the 86th minute.

#17
Interesting evening in conference play as the Terriers upended the Gators and the Yeowomen tied the Ladies. The Scots took care of the Battling Bishops and the New Tigers dispatched the Old Tigers in OT.  DePauw leads the conference race at 6-0 with Kenyon at 4-1-1, Denison at 4-1-0, Wooster at 3-3-0, Witt at 2-2-1, Allegheny at 1-2-2, Hiram at 1-4, Oberlin at 0-3-2, and OWU at 0-5-0.  The New Tigers have clinched a spot in the conference tournament, though the seeding is still unsettled.

This weekend, Kenyon goes to Allegheny, DePauw visits Denison, OWU is at Oberlin, and Hiram hosts Witt. I think Kenyon, Oberlin and Witt will prevail and, in the key matchup of the day, the Big Red beat DePauw 2-1.

We gained a little more clarity in the conference race after Saturday's play. Allegheny showed that the Gators still have some bite in them by defeating Kenyon 1-0. Wittenberg and Hiram had a shoot out, with the Old Tigers prevailing in the second OT by a score of 3-2. Oberlin hung a 2-0 loss onto OWU while Denison showed why it is the class of the conference this season by defeating DePauw 3-1. Worth noting as well was Wooster's performance against Case, coming away with a point.

As things now stand, DePauw still leads the conference race at 6-1-0 with Denison trailing at 5-1-0 with a game in hand. Kenyon is third at 4-2-1, Wittenberg follows at 3-2-1, and Wooster rounds out the top 5 with a 3-3-0 record. Allegheny is next at 2-2-2, followed by Oberlin at 1-3-2, Hiram at 1-5-0, and OWU at 0-6-0. DePauw and Denison have both clinched the opportunity to host the opening round games in the conference tournament, though their final places in the conference standings are still unsettled. The remaining two spots in the conference tournament are still up for grabs, with Kenyon, Wittenberg, Wooster, and Allegheny all having a shot.

The weekday games should provide some greater clarity, as Tuesday has Wooster hosting Allegheny, Denison visiting Wittenberg, and Oberlin going to Hiram and on Wednesday, Kenyon hosts OWU. I think we see the Scots, Big Red, Yeowomen and Ladies winning, setting up some interesting matches on Saturday's final day of the regular season.

The midweek games presented interesting results as Wooster defeated Allegheny 1-0 and Oberlin defeated Hiram by the same score. Wittenberg upset Denison 2-1 and Kenyon beat OWU 3-0.

DePauw sits atop the conference at 6-1-0 with Kenyon now in second with a 5-2-1 record. Denison sits in third at 5-2-0 with Wittenberg following at 4-2-1, and Wooster at 4-3-0. Oberlin and Allegheny both sit with 2-3-2 records while Hiram (1-6-0) and OWU (0-7-0) finish out the table. Kenyon is done for the regular season and the rest of the league plays on Saturday. DePauw controls its own fate when it travels to Allegheny as a win or tie will give the New Tigers the regular season conference title. Denison goes to Oberlin where a win and DePauw loss will give it the regular season title. A Big Red win also gives it the second seed in the conference tournament should DePauw win against the Gators. OWU has a chance to get its first conference win when it hosts Hiram, and Wittenberg hosts Wooster in a battle for a spot in the conference tournament. I think we see DePauw, Denison, Witt and OWU winning, setting up a conference tournament with Witt traveling to DePauw and Denison hosting Kenyon.

There is a lot at stake on Saturday and hopefully everyone has an injury free day.

This week's regional rankings have Denison moving up a spot to #3 and DePauw dropping from #5 to #8. Congratulations to both on remaining ranked!

Congratulations to DePauw, the NCAC regular season champions, who along with Denison, Kenyon, and Wittenberg begin conference tournament play this Wednesday at 7 pm. DePauw hosts Wittenberg while Kenyon visits Denison. While I suspect both matches will be very competitive, I think the home teams win, setting up a DePauw vs. Denison final on Saturday.

Final game of the NCAC season today as the DePauw Tigers host the Denison Big Red in the finals of the NCAC Tournament. The Tigers, who are regular season champions of the conference, made the finals by defeating Wittenberg in 2 OTs 2-1 while the Big Red defeated Kenyon 1-0. Last time these two played, Denison won 3-1 in a match closer than the score suggests. Today, I think the Tigers get their revenge and beat Denison 2-1.

Here is hoping for a good, safe match for all involved and one that no matter the outcome represents NCAC Women's Soccer at its finest.

Congratulations to the DePauw Tigers on winning the conference tournament and automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The Tigers avenged their sole conference loss by beating Denison 2-0, with both goals scored in the first half.

While the Tigers wait for the opponent and location of their first round tournament game, the Big Red will wait to see if they get invited to the Dance. I suspect they will, though I do not think any other NCAC teams join the party. We will learn more on Monday.

Congratulations to Denison on gaining a Pool C bid to the NCAA tournament. The Big Red are also hosting the first and second round games in its pod. Denison (15-4) faces DeSales University (14-5), the winner of the Pool A bid for the Freedom Conference on Saturday, 11/14 @ 1:30 pm.

The regular season and conference tournament champion, DePauw Tigers, earned a Pool A bid and travel to Calvin College for its first and second round games. On Friday, 11/13 at 1:30 pm, the Tigers (12-6-1) take on UW-Oshkosh (14-4-2) from the WIAC who earned a Pool C bid.

Good luck to both squads as they represent the conference in NCAA play.

Congratulations to both DePauw and Denison on their representation of the conference in the NCAA tournament. Both won in the first round, with Denison beating DeSales 1-0 and DePauw winning in a PK shootout against Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Both could not get past their second round opponents however, as Denison fell to Wash U and DePauw lost to Calvin, both in 1-0 losses.

All conference honors were announced last week. Congratulations to all of the women recognized: http://www.northcoast.org/sports/wsoc/2015-16/releases/All-NCAC.

It was an exciting year for NCAC Women's Soccer and best wishes to the seniors whose careers have ended.
