Clarkson down early 17-4 comes back to within 1 at the break down 34-33. Tied at 46 with 11 minutes left the Knights go on a 23-6 run over the next 8 mins. to put the game away. Clarkson places 5 guys in double figures, led by B. Linton with 14 pts, 9 assists, and 5 steals. Keith Murray had 13 pts 7 rebs, Elson Pickering with 13 pts,  George Koduah 10 pts and Felix Llanos also added 10 pts. Skidmore was paced by Gerard O'Shea with 16 pts and Melvis Langyintuo with 11.

Big game for the Knights on Tuesday as they make the short trip down the road to Canton to take on SLU. "with age came" just might have to make the trip up to see that game. ;D

Just back from the Plattsburgh-New Paltz game played at Memorial Hall in Plattsburgh. Both teams started slowly with back and forth play before Plattsburgh opened up an 8 pt lead 21-13 at 9:46 of the 1st half. New Paltz came back to tie it at 24 with 5:04 left only to see the Cards open up a 7 pt lead at the 1:40 mark 33-26. Hawks fought back to close to within 2 at the break 33-31. 1st 4 mins. of the 2nd half saw 6 ties and 6 lead changes. With the score tied at 43 the Cardinals led by Errol Daniyan, and Chris Ruiz went on a 17-2 run over the next 4:30 to lead 60-45 with 11:34 remaining. Cards led by as much as 19 at 71-52 before Curle emptied the bench.
Plattsburgh was led by the game's leading scorer Daniyan with a huge double- double of 26pts and 15 boards. R. J. Ponesse added 17 pts and 6 rebs. while Ruiz held to 2 pts in the 1st period broke loose for 11 in the 2nd half to finish with 13 points. New Paltz placed 4 guys in double figures led by Matt Hauser with 17, Lee Bertram with 15, Harris Wichard with 14 and Connor Cornine added 13. Once again the Hawks played without their top 2 scorers as Shereef Taylor and Jayquan Anderson both absent.

Looks like the rankings will get another shake up this week as #'s 2,3,5,8,9,and 10 go down and the possibility of more carnage tomorrow as everybody in the top 10 except Ithaca has a game scheduled. Lots of interesting match-ups on tap. Fisher and SLU with wins tomorrow could be the big movers for the week. Hamilton could also benefit. Only sure thing is the Bombers will remain on top as they're off until the 25th against Stevens.

Up by 10 at the break 54-44 the Saints stretch their lead to 18 halfway thru the 2nd half and coast from there. Bela Vonnak led 5 SLU players in double figures with 24 pts and 8 reb. Terry Parham had 20 pts and 6 boards, Richard Williams added 15 pts and 11 boards and Josh Sharlow chipped in with 10 pts, 7reb, & 4 asst. Garrett Sharlow also had 10 pts. Hey Ralph,

Talked to Patrick Stewart tonight. He said hello and only had good things to say about you. And I verified that he was one of the best hockey players to have lived in Abilene.  Plattsburgh had a big win tonight(much needed) as they beat the conference leaders, Oneonta St 71-59.

Nazareth 80, Geneseo 74
Potsdam 61, New Paltz 58
Oswego 69, Fredonia 67
Buffalo St. 73, Morrisville 46

jdex,

Those scores along with the Plattsburgh-Oneonta score certainly tightened up the conference. Could be more of the same tomorrow night. Possibility that the Lakers could be all alone in 1st after this weekend.

Just back from McLane Center where Stevens played the Saxons tough and won, 75-67. Ducks opened the game with a 10-0 run, using a half court trapping zone defense to stifle AU. Saxons hit a half court buzzer beater to pull within 39-38 at the break, then opened second half with a trey to take its only lead of the game, 41-39.

Res Life student staff in full force at the game, bringing some signs of life to Alfred, which has been a ghost town since mid-December.

Saxons drop to 2-4 in E8, Stevens goes to 1-3.

Sorry to hear that score Pep. I was rooting for the Saxons. But the big question I have that wasn't answered in your post---was the band present for the game?

Braved the 13 below zero temps to catch the Plattsburgh-Oneonta game tonight. Cardinals grabbed the lead midway thru the 1st half and were never headed. Up by12 at the 3:30 mark they went into the break with a 34-22 lead. Oneonta cut into that margin and several times got within 5 but the Cards went back up by 10 with 8:35 to go at 53-43. Red Dragons came back and cut it to 3 on a 4 point play by Maurice Lane at 7:06 53-50. Chris Ruiz held to only 6 pts suddenly exploded and scored 10 unanswered pts. to stretch the lead for Plattsburgh to 63-50. Ruiz in slightly over 2 minutes hit a 3, scored on a layup after a turnover, hit a 10 foot fallaway jumper, and nailed another 3. He also hit Plattsburgh's next 2 buckets to account for 16 consecutive points for his team sandwiched around several Red Dragon baskets. Coach Tom Curle said this was a must win for his team and the players didn't let him down.

Cardinals placed 4 men in double figures led by Ruiz with 22, Errol Daniyan with 17, R.J. Ponesse with 11, and Brad Mader with 10. Oneonta was paced by Michael Grimes with 17 and Lane with 14.

Oneonta St. falls to 9-5 overall and 4-1 in the conference. Plattsburgh ends its' 7 game losing streak and improves to 4-10 overall, 2-4 in SUNYAC play. Next up for the Red Dragons tomorrow afternoon is Potsdam St. while the Cardinals look for the weekend sweep of the SUNYAC leaders as they take on 2nd place New Paltz.
