Elyce Knudsen, should be and will be MOP. She can do everything but guard the opposing post and do it well. The fact that she's just a sophomore shouldn't and won't factor in. The fact that it's most outstanding player instead of most valuable player actually hurts her. Most valuable would be an easy win seeing how Millikan finished first and is hosting the tournament.
Jayla Johnson is a great player as well, I would think an easy unanimous first team selection. She certainly had a great season. Hopefully coaches outside the CCIW recognize this and more accolades are coming. And I'm sure she's not giving the tournament's title up just yet.
In my mind, if I'm picking the best player in the conference, you have to ask if you had the first pick to start your team, who are you taking?

70' you are a poor loser. The griz doesn't smell or is it an awful place. I've walked in there many times and you are just wrong. Is it the Shirk, no but not many have a Shirk. If your that scared of Covid just stay home. You knew that the university allowed fans, and what protocols would  be observed. Unless your having all your needs delivered to your doorstep, you've encountered many stores not forcing people to mask up.
I have had the shot and the booster, so I'm not downplaying Covid, it's here and it's real, but don't stick your hand in the fire then cry that it's hot. The Millikin Women just outplayed the Titan's on that night.
If the blue run the table and are fortunate enough to host, I'm pretty sure  nobody from the university will miss you, so you can mask up at home and light a candle in case the smell comes thru you laptop.
Not going out on a limb here, but with NP having injury issues, it will probably be MU vs IWU in the final game. Hopefully nobody will lose a player to "health issue's "

Ypsi, you keep saying "in MIA we trust". What do you trust? Her teams have won 1 NCAA game in 6 years. That's coming off 2 Final Four appearances. With all the talent you keep harping about, what's the problem. This year 4 all conference players. I agree, lot of talent, but not enough NCAA tourney wins. This year big letdown, and winning in the CCIW isn't that hard lately. Only 1 or 2 good teams each year lately.

Great game in St.louis. The team that won the game might have surprised most, but the fact that is was a great game shouldn't have surprised anybody, with over 1,100 wins between to very good coaches.

I believe Mr. Nelson will play. Iwu needs him to play like we have seen in the past.
I do think that this be be a difficult game to win, with or without him. IWU non conference
schedule wasn't filled with a lot of power programs. All that is going to change very quick.
Bigger game for the home team, but all games are big now. With 3 losses already, and I think
at least 3 or 4 more during the rugged conference season, pool C bids might be wishful thinking.
Long way to go, it will be fun, always is.

Left Salem before the final game, but on Friday, I sure didn't see a whole lot of local fans at the game.
There was a lot of empty seats.
It has been talked about before, but it's time to move on. I've been to Salem 6 times now, the buzz for the locals is gone.
Yes, they do a great job, both running the event, and treating the teams like champs. The gym was half empty, and IWU travels well. It hurt that UWW had both teams playing in the final four, but not half the gym.
I don't have a place in mind, but I think it could us a new look.
Maybe the local fans thought that since the NCAA didn't charge to get into last years final game, they didn't want to pay this year, can't say I would blame them.

Even if no foul would have been called in the final seconds of the IWU-Webster game, they still had to make a shot to win it. That foul didn't decide the game.

The start to final four weekend has not started well for the Titans. Flight cancelled out of Chicago, couldn't get next one either.
No truth to the rumor, that the pilot is a Webster Alum, and refused to fly team.

NCAA D-1 has a 64 team tournament format that has 68 teams
NCAA D-3 has a 64 team tournament format that has 62 teams
I really like both tournaments,  but you can't have play in games to get in the big dance, they just played 25, and sometimes more games to decide who should be in.
And having teams get a bye in the D-3 dance is just dumb.
Yes, I know why, money, greed will bring them down.

Ron Wellman also has Bloomington/Normal ties.
He was the Athletic Director at Illinois State University.

The Shirk will not be cleared between games. It doesn't seat 2700, lots of standing room all the way around the playing court.  On well attended games, there is usually 150/200 people standing, which isn't a bad view.

This happened two years ago, in the CCIW conference tourney. IWU lost to Augie, then really didn't care who won the next night. Fans and players both. Much smaller crowd.
Hopefully with a little more help from the refs, IWU will advance to the elite eight.

Due to the miles, and seeding, I have to have IWU hosting.
