Did anyone watch the College Cup today? Though it was a little boring and play was tentative for most of the game.....

Could only stand to watch portions of it ... brutal display of soccer.  Taylor Twellman was not impressed at halftime either. When they went to show the 1st half highlights, he remarked that he didn't know if there were any to show. Not a good day for US or College soccer. The Tufts/Wheaton final would have been much more entertaining for ESPN to show (hint, hint)

On the other hand, the UCLA-PC 2OT semifinal Friday night was very entertaining and featured plenty of skill and attacking soccer.  UVA played the way they had to in order to get a result against UCLA.

I normally don't like Twellman but he was right about that one....

One reason the championship may not be as "active" is the short time period between games.  One day of rest is not enough.....Now, D3 has no rest days between games... Go figure....

Did not catch the game, but Twellman brought up the day of rest issue during last years College Cup...

I am totally in agreement. Providence v UCLA was extremely entertaining. Craig Stewart formerly of D2 Franklin Pierce has done a nice job at Providence. He has kept about 10-12 players locally from Mass and RI plus a few foreign kids. Chaka Daley the former coach who left to become UMichigan coach would rarely add so many foreign kids.

Actually, Twellman claimed that the young woman performing her juggling routine at halftime was the best highlight of the final at that point!

Too bad about the final. Best game of the weekend was the 2nd semi. A PC v UMBC would have been a more entertaining final. I'm surprised announcers kept blaming the UVA goal in the semis on a defensive error when it looked like a clear foul to me that led to the goal. Disappointing that PC couldn't manage the final minutes of regulation to advance. Was looking forward to seeing more of the Machado Magic.
