Any thoughts on Calvin starting football?
Expect them to eventually have a heavyweight presence in the conference?

I have to say, I'm a little disappointed that I navigate my way to this page on the Monday morning of the first game week in two years expecting to see hyperbolic banter, and it's a ghost town!

ugh. just whatever.
You guys don't know what you're talking about and I don't have the energy to try and make up for you not paying attention to anything but a record or a (weak) schedule.
The bad thing has already happened. And it's not a loss. The loss, saturday's loss, is not the introduction of the issue -- it's an illustration (yet another) of an issue's severity. An issue that is difficult to point out because of people like you nodding toward a piece of paper and saying "But see? The W number is higher!"
I'm grossed out. And I'm angry. I went to Wabash because they were bombastic and ridiculous and they *meant* it. When the "Wabash Always Fights" stuff gets hollowed out, I/we can feel it and it's painful. It's embarrassing. As an alum, I am embarrassed. Stand for what you promote and promote what you stand for. If that's this, the current state of things, then I'm gonna stop watching real soon. Because it's a degradation of what I identify with as a Wabash Man. I'm gonna check out. And my guess is -- if I'm saying that -- then other people are feeling it too.
That's heartbreaking.

Anybody see Chris Creighton and Eastern Michigan beat Rutgers on the road in a wild finish? First time EMU has beaten a Big Ten team, and they are now 1-38 against the conference. They are 2-0 for the first time since 1990 and last year they had their first winning season since 1995. It will be interesting to see where Creighton goes after EMU. If Urban leaves, or Harbaugh return to the Colts, who knows?

Go see the city of Chicago. 20 miles East. Plenty of things to do and see. I recommend the architectural boat tour on the river. Book online in advance. It's memorable. Get Chicago pizza at Giordanos or Gino's. Should be a great game.
Agree except Lou Malnati's or Pequods have by far the best Chicago deep dish pizza.
Now you've done it. Here comes the great pizza debate on who has the best Chicago pizza. Architectural boat tour is an amazing way to see the city.
Not much to do in and around Wheaton city, as it is a rather small suburb of Chicago. Downtown has only a few restaurants of note.

I believe that one of the largest responsibilities, of a football coaching staff is to create a culture of toughness, discipline, respect and a winning attitude... It's the biggest unknown of any coaching change.. what will their culture be? or more importantly, how much will the culture change from what the returning players are used to?
Lastly, if players don't have all of the above instilled in them or they lose respect, in any way, for the new coaching staff, their overall talent can become secondary.. and a situation can develop where players begin to "go through the motions"
Sure, injuries to key individuals matter, but much of winning in the trenches comes down to toughness, discipline and execution.
In week 3, after losing their first two games, Washington State Coach went public and called his football team weak and as tough as a girls volleyball team.., like Coach Leach or not.. it worked and WSU has won 5 straight (4 PAC 12) contests and is now considered to have one of the top o-lines in the Country. It is the same starting 5 that lost their initial 2 games.. (to lower rated opponents) Same talent/different mindset.
Food for thought.
WAF!

Wally:
Well said. I kept wondering when Wabash was going to adjust but any adjustments were not apparent. Witt's strategy was spot on - force Wabash to throw. They had the horses to stop the run and it appears that we did not have the horses to execute a passing game.
Nope nope nope. Wabash has a 6-4 230 QB throwing to a pair of 6-4 skilled WRs on the outside (Page is pretty routinely the best player on the field), a 6-4 223 matchup nightmare TE, and really good flanker/slot receiver. Not only do they have the horses, they have all of the horses. Against 98% of D-III, this shouldn't even be fair. These are the best QB + WR pieces Wabash has had probably since 2009. So what's going on with the pass offense isn't about the dudes. Wabash should be destroying people with this part of the offense.

And my two cents....Peltz on the bench is just fine with me! He killed us!
