According to Mark Miller, Bay Port senior Vince Vandervest (6-4) has committed to NCAA Division III La Crosse. Vanderbest battled injuries his senior season, but still managed to average 10.9 ppg and 4.2 rpg....

Congratulations to the Warhawks. Had I picked a WIAC team to make it to the Final Four, I didn't think it would be Whitewater. Funny how the WIAC conference champ*** is the upstart/Cinderella team of the Final Four, as mentioned on the front page. Whitewater joins three Top 10, sectional hosts in Fort Wayne. Unfortunately, it will be another year of missing out on the "short" trip to Indiana. I was really excited when they announced the Final Four moving to the Midwest, but for one reason or another, I haven't made it there yet. Hoping to make it one of these years before it moves again!

With the WIAC going 4-0 this weekend, I can't help but wonder how La Crosse might've fared, especially after seeing the UAA put five teams in the tournament but failing to get a single team through to the Sweet 16...  (I know, La Crosse was not the same team from earlier in the season with Anderson trying to play through an injury...)
Make it 6-0 now this Postseason....  The point still remains!

You block my posts? LOL
Maybe?   ;)

Whitewater hits a pair of FT's with 0:06 and survives a missed three point attempt to escape with a hard fought 83-82 victory and advance to the Elite 8!

(Edit: I tried posting this probably a dozen times after the game on my phone yesterday and kept getting a "Database Error" message....  Of course it posts now from my computer...  ::) )

Whitewater hits a pair of FT's with no time left on thr clock to force OT... Thr Warhawks were down six with 0:40 left but were able to come back thanks in part to Johns Hopkins going just 3-for-8 from the charity stripe in the in the final 0:45...

Now, UWW football could just do a Twitter post like UWO did for their schedule.
Was it actually accurate?   ;D

They've had a few tweets this year that made you wonder who was in charge of their Twitter account....  Can definitely tell they have a new SID this year.

Whitewater is just a couple of minutes away from punching their Sweet 16 ticket, while earlier in the day UWO loses to Ohio Northern to end their season....

UWO joins Whitewater and also advances to the Sweet 16 with 51-50 victory over Hope...  UWO had a chance to make it a three point game late (0:10 left,) but missed the front end of the bonus.  Hope then calls a timeout after the rebound, and I can't help but wonder if they'll second guess that decision...  UWO had three fouls to give and proceeded to use them all and were able to drain about 6-7 seconds off the clock. Hope misses an elbow jumper as the buzzer sounds. Will Mahoney leads the way for UWO with 23 points.

Whitewater advances to the Sweet 16 with 78-75 victory over Case Western Reserve...  Miles Barnstable with 27 and Chisolm with 21 to lead the way for the Warhawks.

UWO wins by three after hitting a shot late in the game for a one point lead...  (They added a pair of FT's with no time left on the clock.)

Eau Claire falls in TRIPLE OT 85-81...

Warhawks will play the winner of Case Western and Arcadia at CWRU in Ohio.  The hosts are big favorites in the game that starts in a few minutes.
Arcadia gave the hosts all they wanted (believe someone on Hoopsville predicted a close game as Arcadia's record was a bit deceiving; a number of losses without their best player) before falling 82-76...

I'm not connected to the UWSP program one bit, but it's not a secret that Duckworth and the assistant AD didn't like Semling....  THAT is the reason everyone is seeing the total disrespect when it comes to the Press Release and comments in regards to this situation.  Anyone who says otherwise needs to take off the blinders!

Finlandia University will be closing at the end of this academic year.

Not mentioned in the article, but according to Head Coach Luke Paul's Twitter account, administration has also canceled the 2023 Baseball season.  This means WIAC teams will be looking to fill four games if they want to play a full 40 game schedule....

Whitewater hosts Webster while Ohio Wesleyan & Gustavus Adolphus will also square off in Whitewater.

UWO will square off against Washigton & Lee at Ohio Northern while the hosts face Berea...

Eau Claire is matched up with Whitman at the University of Chicago, while the hosts will play Northwestern (Minn.)

Similar to the Men's bracket,  Whitewater and UWO are on the same side of the brackets, however they are in different quadrants... Eau Claire finds themselves on the opposite side of the bracket than their WIAC rivals.
