Key hyperlinks:

2006 NCAA Qualifying Standards and Performance Lists

Apple RaceberryJaM has many key features for the D3 track fan.  It tracks qualifying performances and has all-time records archives.  Unless you have first-hand knowledge of where results are posted on a given meet, this is where you will find the pertinent results affecting your team or perfornmers.

The "updated" day means that stats have been recorded on the site up to the updated day.  If the meet manager of a specific meet has not submitted the results as of the most recent screen updating, then look for it later in the week.

Sometimes a conference meet has national significance.

In the men's 200 M, the first 4 PQ times registered all come from the ASC.

Greg Nixon (Sophomore from Howard Payne) already has an AQ  21.24 [-0.30w] to his credit.

However, 3 freshmen already have PQ's

South Region Freshman Indoor Runner of the Year McMurry's Hanneus Ollison 21.54 secs.
His teammate, Bert Green 21.73 secs.
Mississippi College's Deoante' Rivers 21.76 secs.

Dan Austin (Williams) threw 186-8 in the discus Sunday (the 26th) in San Diego.

Dan opened with a 178 while Meckes (Calvin) is over 180 in both his meets.  The men's discus should be the top D3 event this spring.

Any ideas on why teams like (W) Oshkosh [Apr. 1, Naperville, IL] and (W) La Crosse [Apr. 8, Cedar Falls, IA] open their outdoor seasons so late?

I'm guessing because it is still around 30-35 degrees most of the time still until April hits in Wisconsin. It was actually in the 40's for a while yesterday, that was a treat!! ;)

Pretty impressive how many McMurry and Lincoln athletes that are at or near the AQ for their events and it's not even really outdoor season in most of America yet. Got a 7' 1/4" high jump  in the books

I notice many of the southern (Texas, California) sprinters, jumpers and throwers struggle at the NCAA’s when the weather goes poor.

Would anyone else like to see the NCAA D3 meet move a few hundred miles south?  To Tennessee or the Carolinas?

Chicagoland is great, but the weather is too unpredictable.  How many times do the North Central last chance meets (next to Benedictine) get postponed and delayed while the thunderstorms roll through?

Millikin (2001), St. Lawrence (2003) and Wartburg (2005) all had severe weather delays.

good point!  the last two years (2004 and 2005) the NCC meet the weekend before nationals has been delayed due to weather (pole vault was moved indoors last year because of rain along with many events delayed until around midnight!).

I notice triple jumper Anat Benun from Israel is not on the Brandeis outdoor track and field roster.  She is a freshman and finished second at the indoor NCAA's.  What's the deal?

In recent years Andrew Rock and the Wartburg distance royalty, Buttry and Moen, have been amoung the best in the US.

Who will be the next D3 track and field athlete to make the USA national team?

Robyn Jarocki (W-Oshkosh) 5th at the 2006 USA indoor shot and weight championships
Kelly Godsey (Bates) hammer wars with Jarocki may produce a 65 throw
Greg Nixon (Howard Payne) short-sprints ... loves the heat
Nate Olson (W-La Crosse) long-sprints ... filling Rock's shoes (sandles)
Nick Symmonds (Willamette) middle-distance ... will he run a 4 minute mile in 2006?
Dan Austin (Williams) 10th at the 2005 USA discus championships
Nate Meckes (Calvin) 16th at the 2005 USA discus championships

It’s now Keelin, not Kelly, Godsey.  I hope the press does not make a circus out this at the NCAA’s.  It would be nice for him to compete without unusual distractions.

- have a read on the issue:
