P'bearfan, it's great to see some acknowledgment of Kaitlynn Miller's being named to the Olympic team. Although she didn't get a race start in PyeongChang, she's had a great post-college skiing career at a time when the U.S. women's team is far stronger and deeper than it's ever been. Witness the first ever U.S. women's Olympic cross country skiing medal...the gold captured by Jessie Diggins and Kikkan Randall in the team sprint race that was one of the more exciting race finishes in this Olympics in any sport!
Kaitlynn's younger sister Hannah was Bowdoin's first-ever All American Nordic skier last year, and this season three Bowdoin first-years qualified for the NCAA D1 national championships, which will take place in Steamboat Springs, CO later this week.
Many readers of these D3Boards are probably not aware that several NESCAC schools are highly competitive in Nordic skiing at the D1 level...most notably Middlebury, followed by Williams, Colby, Bates and Bowdoin.
