NCF.....aware you.chat with Vandy74 and are aware of the Nescac.  Xcountry was not a big thing for me...was a short distance man myself and left the long distances to my older brother.  My brother at Harvard had a cross country runner from Kansas as a roommate for all 4 years.  Anyway...had lunch with an old friend...cross country runner for Johns Hopkins...and he brought up the subject of the sport.  Very happy that JHU placed 3 rd last season in the NCAA.  See that this season, both JHU and Williams are rated very high in the pre- season polls.
Since your school has dominated the NCAA for decades and since you are familiar with the CAC....friends attending Wes?....I am interested on your take of the conference quality of teams.

Al Carius is the main reason North Central dominates in cross-country and distance events in track. Although my son was a hurdler/sprinter, he said Al was one of the best coaches/motivators that he's ever had. Carius brings out the best in every athlete. He is genuinely concerned about every athlete both on and off the track. As far as the person attending Wes, he wrestled with my son since they were in youth wrestling and they also played football together in high school. As far as the quality of other teams, distance wise, I will have to get back to you on that.

Good luck to th North Central men's cross country team as they compete for another National Championship today.

Congrats to North Central who recently won their 18th National D3 Cross Country Championship. The Cardinals finished with 57 points. Runner up Wisconsin-LaCrosse was a distant second with 196 points. The margin of victory was the 2nd largest in the history of the event, and the championship was NCC’s 5th in the last 8 years.
