3rd-Albion-110
4th-K-zoo-117
5th-St. Mary's-130
6th-Calvin JV-134
7th-Adrian-177
8th-Alma-202
9th-Olivet-273

Men
1st-Calvin-15
2nd-Hope-71
3rd-Tri State-77

5th-K-zoo-166
6th-Calvin JV-167
7th-Adrian-184

I think that's why people wonder why the MIAA has TWO conference meets.  Who else has JV cross country?

MIAA Jamboree WOMEN

5. Jillian McLauglin, Kalamazoo, 19:39

McLauglin had a nice time for a school with no track and field team.

When do the new USTFCCCA Division III cross country rankings come out?  It's been a while since the pre-season rankings were posted.

A big event in the Southwest this weekend is Orange Crush VIII sponsored by Hendrix and Conway RRCA.

Who's racin' at the Orange Crush VIII?

BTW. Don't ya hate the orange on the blue background?

Cowman, I was under the impression that the Orange Crush drew a larger D3 contingent.

McMurry Men finished 2nd of five teams to Provisional D1 U Central Arkansas (32-33) and the McMurry Women finished 3rd of 7 behind UCentral Arkansas and D2 Ouachita Baptist.

The Texas State D3 Cross Country Championships are being hosted by McMurry this weekend.  This should have teams from Austin College, Southwestern and Trinity from the SCAC, independent UDallas and ASC teams UT-Dallas, UT-Tyler, East Texas Baptist, LeTourneau, Concordia Austin, McMurry, Sul Ross State and Texas Lutheran Women.

It's not just two, it's three, counting the conference championships. Here's Calvin's schedule:

DateOpponent and Location
September 16    Calvin Invitational at Calvin College
September 23    MIAA Jamboree at Hope College
September 29    at Notre Dame Invitational
October 6    at Michigan Intercollegiates
October 15    at Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invite, Oshkosh, WI
October 28    MIAA Championships at Alma
November 11    NCAA Regional at Hanover, IN
November 18    NCAA Nationals at Cincinnati, OH

Is it unusual for a conference to have two meets and a championship?

Are NAIA schools invited to the Michigan Intercollegiates?

As for having two meets, if the conference sees that as a viable way to provide adequate competition in preparation to the conference meet, then I think that it is wise.

If these are the three .... the Michigan Intercollegiates is not an MIAA competition.  It is for all colleges and universities in Michigan.  It's a big meet.

Yes, NAIA schools do race there.

The key word in your post is adequate.  Do yyou feel there is adequate competition at these MIAA meets?

How many seniors in the Wheaton front runners .... NONE!

3 Balgaard, Jaron           JR Wheaton College       27:17.00    3
4 Babatz, Tim               JR Wheaton College       27:19.06    4

6 Danielson, Micah          SO Wheaton College       27:21.00    6
7 Loy, Clayton              FR Wheaton College       27:26.00    7
9 Ashworth, Ben             FR Wheaton College       27:43.00    9
10 Murphy, Brendan           FR Wheaton College       27:44.05   10
11 Field, Matt               SO Wheaton College       27:44.33

15 Mull, Brandon             SO Wheaton College       27:57.00

Very scary . . . Calvin's men had better pull out the win this year becasue it will be their last for awhile.

I'm not sure what kind of pressed to be -- im or de -- that none of Wheaton's top runners are seniors, considering that Matt Field and Daniel Ball were juniors last year. Bad enough that Daniel is still a junior, but Matt is now a sophomore?  Micah Danielson and Brandon Mull also appear to have had difficulties of some sort, as they were both also sophomores last year, according to CCIW championship results. ;);D

Results from last year's CCIW championship: http://onlineraceresults.com/race/view_plain_text.php?race_id=2877

[Even two seniors not among the top seven is impressive, if we can trust the rest of the class listings...]

I'd say the Knights had a nice meet, very nice.
Although I doubt Finnn was happy getting beat by another D3 harrier.
