The Saints march to Salem halted yesterday on the frozen tundra of Wisconsin. It was a very cold and blustery day that saw the Saints play valiantly to the final whistle but come up empty on the short end of a 3-1 decision to Chicago. The Saints faced adversity all season from a rash of injuries that looked like it would derail their championship hopes - they didn't and TMC went on to post an exceptional 22-1-1 season that included 19 shutouts and another PAC championship. It's unfortunate that only 1 of the 64 tournament squads will finish the season with a W next to their name, but that is the way it works, and these players wouldn't have it any other way. The last 4 seasons they have compiled an 83-5-5 record against the best D3 has to offer! Coach Cummings has a squad that didn't raise a National Championship banner, but it did raise a program to a national level! Congratulations Saints on a heck of a ride!

I know that Thomas More College has had a great run over the past 4 years, but I didn't realize how good this senior class has been. They are 1 of 3 groups of seniors to make at least the round of 16 every year of their career - TMC, Williams, & Messiah. What a great accomplishment for all of  these talented ladies!

The Saints march to Salem took a northernly detour today through Wisconsin as they play Chicago on the campus of Wisconsin - Whitewater on Saturday. All the Saints have done is go 9-0 against regioanally ranked opponents and not lose since 2015. Obviously not good enough credentials for the NCAA to award them host duties for the sectional. That said - this team has taken on every challenge in their path with passion and resolve. I'm sure they will again this weekend! Go Saints!

The round of 64 has begun and the TMC Saints continue their march to Salem! The Saints defeated their 8th regionally ranked opponent - Penn State Behrend - against zero losses. Their prize for doing so is a titanic struggle tomorrow against regionally ranked Lynchburg at home on BB&T field. The game was not without drama as Penn State scored in the opening 90 seconds and held the lead longer than all the previous foes combined. Adding insult to injury the Saint's starting defensive back was injured on the scoring play and did not return to the action. This is now the 4th starting player that has missed significant time this season - 2 are out for the remainder - but the "never say die" Saints looked down the bench and found more than adequate substitutes that continued the advance. They netted 3 goals in the first half and played stifling defense in the second to post the win. Coach Cumming's crew are displaying, "A spirit that will not die!" Go Saints!

We are into the conference tourney season and the TMC Saints rolled through the regular season posting an 18-0-1 record including wins over Great Lakes Region foes #2 ranked Wittenberg, #3 CMU, #4 ONU, #6 W&J, and #8 Grove City. They carded 4 shutouts against these opponents, 16 total on the season, while only allowing 3 goals all season. We are now into the "win or go home" portion of the year, so it will be interesting if the Saints can continue their dominate march to Salem. Here's to a fun week of soccer where tickets get punched and dreams come true! Good luck and safe travels to all the teams, players, and fans.

The new rankings are out: the top 4 spots remain the same with Grove City moving into the #5 slot, Wittenburg #6, Dennison #7, and CWRU Depauw and Hilbert rounding out the 10 slots. TMC continued their run through the region last week defeating DePaul in Greencastle 4-0. This makes the Saints 4-0 against the region with one game left on the schedule, Grove City, that is a currently ranked opponent. During the run the saints have given up 1 goal 3 times and recorded 8 shutouts. I guess you could say, "The Saints are marching in!"

The week 3 rankings are out and TMC stays on top after nice wins over Transylvania, ONU, and IWU over the past week. ONU stays #2 while CMU regains the #3 slot. Franklin and Depauw round out the top five positions. TMC plays Depauw in Greencastle tonight - the Saints have had a tough early schedule playing the best the Great Lakes Region has to offer.

TMC continues it's run through the region with a 2-0 win at ONU last night. With the win the Saints have victories over #2 ONU, #3 Wittenberg, and #4 CMU. They play @ #6 Depauw next week and will meet #9 Grove City in PAC play later in the season. Their overall 7-0-1 record, including 5 shutouts, has moved them to the #5 spot in the NSCAA poll.

It also had Thomas More drop 4 places after 2 wins last week. It is this kind of unexplainable nonsense that makes me very wary of mathematical equations - questionable data used to establish the initial baseline.

I heard on the local Louisville radio station that UofL is putting in a bid.

Thomas More starting out very strong with convincing wins against Whittenberg at home (3-0), CMU on the road (2-1), and Capital back at the friendly confines (3-0). TMC hosts John Carroll on Friday night. Go Saints!

Illinois Wesleyan also has to get by Thomas More. TMC is 7-3 over the past 3 years in the tourney, rated #9 in the NSCAA poll, and return 9 starters. It should be a good barometer for both teams.
