Saturday's weather isn't looking any better in Ithaca. I'd bet a dollar that it's moved to a Sunday/Monday

Oswego bows 13-2 at Marietta OH in first game  of best-of-3 Super Regional. Both score in the first ..... Lakers give up seven runs in the fourth --- all unearned when first two Marietta batters reach on errors. Second game Sunday, third if needed follows

Ithaca shuts down Catholic DC 4-0 and looks Sunday to sweep.

Cortland conqueror Endicott MA eliminated at home from Super Regional. Baldwin Wallace OH qualifies for World Series berth by taking 7-4 verdict Saturday after winning 4-2 Friday

Oswego draw curtains on the season in 19-5 Super Regional loss at Marietta OH. Host Bears score six in the second, five in the third. Lakers 33-13. Marietta 43-5 bound for World Series in Cedar Rapids IA.

Ithaca season concludes with 16-2 loss Sunday to Catholic DC in Super Regional decisive third game. Catholic 10 runs in first three frames. Catholic proceeds to World Series.
    Bombers drop 7-4 second game to even best-of-three series. Close 5-0 deficit to 5-4. Catholic extends to 7-4 in the eighth.

Cortland up and playing Saturday in cold but sunny Maryland. RDragons in 16-1 conquering of Widener PA (1-2) on Salisbury campus. Friday's scheduled debut vs. 2022 national runnerup and '23 top ranked Salisbury ppd. by rain and charted for Sunday DH.
  Dragons reloading minus the likes of all-stars S. Giordano, D. Coleman, J. Varian, Z. Durant from touted 35-12 club of 2022. Vets in today's starting cast include OFers C. Bonacci, M. Bruno, 2b A. Michalski, 1b M. Krafft, dh N. Chemotti whose .417 bat in 60 AB led '22 outfit. Returning righty W. McCarthy draws Saturday opening mound assignment. Staff also has vet A. Fusco.
   First two CSt batters retired against Widener, but next five all score featuring Chemotti rbi double and returning D. Mackenzie rbi triple. Four run second inning follows five-run first. Dragons with 20 hits scattered among 13 players. McCarthy works three innings (2h, 2bb, 1k) followed by four others, returnee P. Dalton among them. Cortland falls 9-1 and 13-5 in Sunday twinbill at Salisbury MD, getting first-hand look at projected national favorite and two of its leading players. RDragons had begun campaign Saturday with 16-1 romp over Widener PA on the same diamond.
      First game Sunday has pitcher J. Adkins -- 2022 hurler of the year, going eight innings (5h, 7k, 0bb, 97p) and top '23 national player candidate K. Caster homering in 11-hit Sea Gulls performance. Cortland bunches M. Krafft, C. Bonacci (2h), M. Bruno singles for sixth inning run. Gulls post two in the first and three in the fifth to take command. A. Fusco works into the fourth for Dragons. Four roster newcomers finish. Salisbury 9-11-0, Corts 1-5-2
     Second game finds Cortland scoring first in the first inning but Salisbury answering with three earned runs aided by two walks and two hit batters. Gull in the second frame open up 7-1 margin on back-to-back Caster -- three run shot, and D. Sheeler home runs. Caster homers in all three Widener weekend games. Meanwhile, Sheeler swats his second in Sunday's finale in which Dragons Z. Kringdon and D. Mackenzie hit two-run homers. Cortland sends seven to the mound, LP D. Beers exiting early. Salisbury 13-10-0, Cortland 5-10-1.
    Salisbury coming off Saturday afternoon 16-0 debut beating of Widener PA on the heels of Cortland's morning win.

Cortland goes 1-1 in Friday's Baltimore Invitational, dropping early 6-0 outing to season opening host Johns Hopkins but winning13-1 issue vs. Transylvania KY later in the day. RDragons 2-3 and finish Saturday against Wittenberg OH -- 10-3 Friday victim of Hopkins.

Cortland and Oswego, both nationally ranked, to see one another first-hand this weekend in Winchester VA where ranked Shenandoah entertains four team gathering including Susquehanna PA. Event actually scheduled to begin Friday until cold, rainy weather delayed 2-3 Cortland game vs. 5-1 Susquehanna.
   Saturday first matches RDragons vs. Susquehanna followed by 2-1 Oswego vs. 8-0 Shenandoah followed by C-St vs. Shenandoah.
    Sunday slate has Oswego vs. Susquehanna, then Cortland vs. Susquehanna followed by Oswego vs. Shenandoah.
    While Corts engage in their third weekend of play, O-St in its second -- beating Wash&Jeff PA and splitting with ranked Baldwin-Wallace OH last week. Oswego at Cortland will launch conference action in late March.
     All seven teams have made season debuts ..... Brockport 0-2, Oneonta 1-2, New Paltz 1-4, Plattsburgh 1-1, Fredonia 0-2

Cortland wins twice Saturday in windy, cold Winchester VA, spanking Susquehanna PA River Hawks 13-4 and handing host Shenandoah Hornets first loss in 11-2 evening outcome. Between those games it was Oswego losing hardluck 4-1 decision to Shenandoah. Three more games on tap Sunday. O-St and Susquehanna open play followed by Cortland/Susquehanna, then OSt/Shenandoah.
   
   RDragons in first game score all 13 runs in the first four innings capped by six-run fourth, Corts windup with 13 hits while five pitchers check RHawks to six. C. Bonacci 3x4, 3r, 2bi; A. Michalski 2x3, 3r; M. Krafft 2h, 2bi; D. Mackenzie 2x4, 3bi; M. Chemotti 2bi; H. Holliday 2bi. Starter S. VanDam WP (3inn, 2h, 2r, 2er, 2bb, 5k). Fifth hurler X. Payne closes. Cortland rallies for three ninth inning runs to trim Susquehanna Pa 4-2 on Sunday afternoon to complete 3-0 weekend in Winchester VA. D. Tierney delivers two-run game-deciding single after bases loaded wild pitch produces tying run. Fourth RDragons pitcher D. Beers finishes for the win (3.1inn, 1, 3k). Corts stake starter N. Reiser to 1-0 lead on D. Mackenzie first inning sac fly. Susquehanna forges 2-1 advantage with two scores in the sixth. C. Bonacci 3x4. Dragons 5-3 and later this week bound for start of spring break play in Lexington SC. Susquehanna 7-3.
   
   Oswego drops Sunday pair in Winchester, bowing 11-4 in the morning to Susquehanna and 5-3 in  evening session to host Shenandoah Hornets. Susquehanna catapults Lakers with six-run fifth on two hits, four walks, hit batter and error. S. Dertinger LP (4.1inn, 2h, 4r, 4er, 3bb, 5k). Sus 11-9-0, O-St 4-7-3.
   Lakers lose to Shenandoah whose J. Bell holds them to no runs, two hits on 103 pitches through eight frames. Oswego breaks through in the ninth and puts tying run on base. T. Pecchia LP (5inn, 3h, 1r, 1er, 62p) and five pitchers follow. Shens 5-8-1, OSt 3-4-1.

Cortland turned back 12-6 by Marietta OH on Thursday starting three game series in sunny Lexington SC. Both teams ranked and emerge with 5-4 and 6-4 respective records. RDragons' D. Mackenzie and M. Bruno rbi hits produce early 2-0 edge. Negated in the fourth by T. Davis' two-run homer. Six-run sixth inning including two bases loaded walks puts Marietta in 8-2 command. Margin sliced to 8-6 in the bottom of the frame. Pioneers' insurance in the eighth features A. Richter three-run home run.
    Mackenzie 2h, 3bi; M. Krafft 2h; Bruno 2h for Cortland. Sends out five pitchers led by W. McCarthy (4.1inn, 5h, 2r, 2er, 2k, 0bb, 52p). T. Valentine WP (5.1inn, 76p). B. Carson 4x5, 3r and T. Davis 3x3 for Pioneers who fell 5-3 to Brockport last Sunday.
    Marietta 12-14-3, Corts 6-10-0. Schedule single games Friday and Saturday. Dragons follow with three game set vs. Case Western Reserve OH at the same site

Hartenstein rbi seventh inning single, RDragons give up four runs in the bottom of the eighth. Wild pitches score tying and go-ahead runs and hit batter produces the seventh. Four walks and the hbp help seal CSt. fate. Dragon D. Mackenzie two-run home run in the sixth makes it 3-3, Mackenzie with 21 rbi on the season. Five Cortland pitchers in action -- S. VanDam LP (.2inn). C. Bonacci 2x5 in defeat. B. Carson three-run homer in victory. Marietta 7-6-2, Corts 4-6-1.

Cortland absorbs 18-2 drubbing from Marietta as Ohio Pioneers Saturday complete three-game sweep on successive days in Lexington SC. Young RDragons' pitchers -- six in all -- touched up early and often. Marietta scores three in the first inning. A. Mierczkowski draws Cortland within 3-2 with third inning home run with mate aboard. Marietta immediately answers with four scores, adds six in the seventh on three home runs including A. Richter inside the park grand slam, and four runs in the eighth. Marietta 18-15-2, Corts 2-5-4

    Sunday cold, wet weather calls off 5-6 Cortland vs. 4-4 Case Western Reserve OH in Lexington. First of three game series. CWR earlier in March split two games with Marietta. Prior to Sunday CSt/CWR game, 1-6 Oswego was to face CWR.That scrap weathered out as well. Oswego nipped 13-12 Saturday by 7-8 William Pearce NC in Cary NC and 1-6 Lakers now head to central Florida and Monday night test vs. Hamilton

Opposing Spartans rise in their second at-bat for six runs -- two earned as Dragons commit three errors. CWR scores at least once in five of its next six innings ....and strikes for seven runs in the sixth aided by three bases loaded walks. Six Cortland pitchers walk 11, yield 19 hits and toss 229 pitches. Starter J. LaBruno LP (1.2inn). Bonacci 3x5, bi; D. Mackenzie 2x5. Dragons strand 16 runners. J. Anderson, K. Mackenzie both swing 4x5 CWR bats. CWR 17-19-3, Cortland 5-13-3.

Cortland bats go on 13-run seventh inning spree in 23-3 conquering of host Brevard NC on cool, sunny Wednesday afternoon. Trailing 3-2 into the seventh, RDragons send 19 batters to the plate in 10 hit frame. Nearly all of the damage follows doubleplay lineout and 3-3 score. Rampage sees A. Mieczkowski with a single and triple, C. Bonacci single and double to complete 5x5 game. W. McCarthy WP (6inn, 7h, 3r, 2er, 2bb, 7k).
