If the tournament started tomorrow, here's what it might look like:

Mid-Atlantic Region
   1.  Johns Hopkins (Centennial Conference)
   2.  Salisbury (Pool B)
   3.  Rowan (New Jersey Athletic Conference)
   4.  Wesleyan (Pool C)
   5.  Keystone (Colonial States Athletic Conference)   
   6.  Penn-Behrend/Frostburg State (Allegheny Mountain College Conference)
   7.  Lebanon Valley (Middle Atlantic Conference-Commonwealth)
   8.  Fairleigh-Dickinson/DeSales (Middle Atlantic Conference-Freedom)

A few of these teams will fall out and BigPoppa is correct Carthage does not have the regional record to even think about a pool C bid (but I think the NCAA likes your thought of saving a dollar).

Salisbury should be noted with a Pool A bid as the CAC is swimming in the "A" Pool.

Putting Salisbury in the Mid-Atlantic shows how far the NJAC has fallen this season.  One bid is unthinkable a few years ago when folks were asking will they have four.

Trinity (Tx) is in the west region; if your sceanario is right, one of the pool c candidates would likely be shipped out.

True, but it's 800 miles closer to Fayetteville than Linfield.

The West Region goes from Spokane, WA(Whitworth) to Clinton, MS(Mississippi College) over 2,500 miles. Only the NCAA could figure this out.

Concordia Moorhead getting a bid? I needed a few moments to get back up off the floor after reading that one. As good as the MIAC is (most years) it's clear that the only way they get a second bid is if someone runs the table in the conf. tourney. Nobody's staff is deep enough in my opinion to knock the Tommies off twice in that. The WIAC will get 2 bids, because it's agrguably the best conference in the country. At least one Pool B will come frome the UMAC and in my opinion there should be two. Lastly the NAthC will get their automatic only. It is impossible to predict the movement of teams to other regionals, although I believe that it will happen this year with the Central not really having a run-away leader. No offense to the Central. So I'll give the Midwest ranking a shot and my opinion on who I think moves.

1) St. Thomas (MIAC Reg & Tourn. Champ)
2) UW-Whitwater (WIAC Champs)
3) St. Scholastica (Pool B)
4) UW-Stevens Point (WIAC Tourney Champs or Pool C)
5) Bethany Lutheran (Pool B)
6) Aurora

* Whitewater doesn't move since they are the host.
* St. Thomas doesn't move since they are the #1
* St.Scholastica is the likely mover (highest seed not a #1 or host)
* Point has a chance, but to take the #4 team and make them a #1 is tough
* Bethany Lutheran, not getting much love nationally is good, not a #1

All of these squads could make the move, the 2 farthest are still within the 500 mile standard

Two things:  You forgot the NEWMAC - Wheaton is the favorite right now, but Babson and WPI could steal that bid.  Also, RPI got swept in a four-game set vs. Rochester this weekend.  That should knock them out of the Pool C running.

Last year's SCAC team that came to the West Region was Hendrix.

Trinity TX has been in the West Regional in the past and most likely would go there instead of the South. Several teams in the SCAC are in the West not the South Region including Mississippi College
