We've got 6 umpires today; I've never been at a regional final, is this normal?

Jeff Donovan parked one in the first to give UWW the early lead, 1-0;
Stevens Point's Brad Archambeau reached on a throwing error by the third baseman to lead off the bottom half of the inning, Eric Fritz knocked him in a double to center, tied 1-1.

The line through three:
UWW: 1 0 0 - 1 3 1
UWSP: 1 0 0 - 1 3 0

In the final battle of unbeatens (the Central is a day behind due to rain), IWU leads Webster, 5-3, at the end of 7.

Six umpires for a final, yeah.

IWU downs Webster, 8-3, to take the driver's seat in the Central.  I'm not counting any chickens, but being the last undefeated team is a HUGE advantage.

Figures ... I'm listening to 1010AM, UWSP radio. Gonna have to switch.
EDIT: Good thing I did. Could be my computer, but Radio Ron has his feed humming about 1 second ahead of the competition ;).

I don't know, I'm in and out of the media tent during the game, a half inning here, an inning there... shooting for UWSP today. I keep picking the right innings to sit.

BV coming back on RHIT in the Central.  They were down 5-2 after four, but in the top of the fifth already have one run in and the bases loaded with no outs.

A huge fifth for BV - knocked out the starter (reliever is Jim Bob Schuler - gotta love the name!), and finished with 6 runs on 6 singles and a double.  BV now leads, 8-5, going to the bottom of the fifth.

BV eliminates RHIT, 11-6.  Now faces Webster in a half hour or so.

West: Linfield, Mississippi College, Pomona-Pitzer

You have to think Linfield will go with Larson who kept Miss at bay in the two team's first match-up on Day 1. It's getting fairly thin on Miss' side. You might see a bit of Ferriss, and Underwood should have some innings left as well. Cowart could probably finish the 8th-9th if you got there with a lead.

Think about how good this Miss team would be with a healthy Terrell Prescott and Brandon Martin.

Rose-Hulman's final out came when a pinch runner was caught trying to steal home - while down FIVE runs!  Does that strike anyone else as more dumb than daring?
