Vaske brothers on our team last summer competed for the Licking County Settlers.  One had great success while the didn't have as much but still was successful.  The one who was the most successful was the pitcher who received votes for pitcher of the year made the all-star team and was all league first team.

Both of them enjoyed their experience, and learned a lot about themselves playing against majority D1 guys.  There was no biasedness towards D1 vs D3 players if you look at Otterbein's C/UTL guy Wes Meadows he was also named 1st team, made the all-star team too.

So if they can compete against D1 guys more power to them.

Son has been placed on a summer league for next year. He signed his contract with the Licking County Settlers.

If you know of someone looking for a place to play still for next summer, The OICBL is still looking for some players. This league plays in central Ohio and is mostly local players. I know of one young man from Tennessee that will be playing in the league.

Oicbl has added some teams and is now the Ohio Independent Collegiate Baseball Association.

Players looking for a place next summer should check it out. It is not on the level of the Great Lakes or The Valley and their are no hosts families, but still a nice place to play. It has quite a few local D3, D2 and some D1 players. It is a good place from Freshmen to get start out. I have known several players to start here then move to a league such as the NYCBL.

I am not associated with the league, but I do watch some of their games.

Just a quick note about Jason Byers and the start he is having in Chillicothe for the paints.

Looks like he will have quite a few innings on his arm once Summer is over. 95 in the regular season. I can see a similar number if he keeps pitching this well for the Paints.

Congratulations to Jason.

I believe there was going to be a fifth, a catcher from OWU but he had surgery.

BW's Waite and Mount's Clarke are on the Lorain County team in the Prospect League as well.  Waite was listed as a senior this spring, but now on their roster he's listed as a junior so he must have a 5th yr.  That might be Harrison's biggest recruit!
