Since we're in the down season here is some news from players going beyond their college career. Reggie Cole is back on the roster for the DC Defenders.  Reggie was an intrical part of the 2018 leadership team for the 2018 Championship Cru. He was drafted by the Defenders, Waived and now he back on the roster.

Meanwhile #17 Blake Jackson is still doing his job and part of the undefeated Houston Roughnecks

Some news on Coach Hal Mumme who used to helm Belhaven. He is OC for the XFL Dallas Renegades, he took a hit from a player coming out of bounds and it is reported on this fall he broke his leg, and stayed in the game to the finish.

If true, hope for the best mend Hal...

So in the Alumni News - #17 Blake Jackson WR for the XFL Houston Roughnecks scored last night in a nice grab for a touchdown. He had a good night doing his job, running his routes and delivering when the ball came his way. But we do have to get to him and work on his post TD dance...

Add Musue as well @ 6'1"
A lot to think about but it is a long time until the season rolls back around, alot can happen, but we can hope for the best.

Yeah I looked at that, the only info I have on him with A&M Football was his freshman year. After that it's all T&F - I came across this guys profile because of a twitter post sent my way, But with all the supposed hype, I didn't see an A&M Football lead but there was all of this posting on sites about 5th round graded in the NFL draft.. how could that be?

Well, if he stays and plays perhaps we can see - I just hope for a good fast set of hands who can deliver when it comes their way. I loved that the Cru were utilizing the TE a bit more in 2019 and hope to see that going forward, nice twist to things Ruckman came through.

Hoping to see some more Ernest Musue, as a freshman he stood out to me at least, I hope we see him for three more years. But looking to the 2019 Roster I see a whole host of WRs we haven't seen much of or any of for that matter last season, maybe a new developed corps coming up?

So with what we know as of right now, does anyone doubt the Tommy Bowden is in the #1 slot for QB, at least as this point right now? Whatcha All think?

I don't know if this has been posted but Caleb Eagans has committed to UMHB for his last year of eligibility. Texas A&M grad, Wide Receiver and the scoop is he has some NFL prospects post 2020, but who knows right. I'm just happy to see a possible speedy WR much like KJ Miller.

Huston Roughnecks... UMHBs Blake Jackson is playing Wide Receiver #17

Yea he looks promising as a quicker back. Saw that Fred Fleeks is considering the Cru and he looks like a pretty good all around athlete. I did see that all the Temple players were going to Permian Basin but I believe we still let some really good talent in the Central Texas area get away and we concentrate on the Houston, San Antonio, and those areas a little more. We can't argue with the results we have been having but living in the Temple-Belton area it is always nice to be cheering on some local athletes after watching their high school carreers.
UTPB advertises being able to graduate for 10k in west texas.  Getting a degree and not having 40-60k in debt might be incintive. Also don't forget there is a stable of RB's that didn't play because of injury last year as well. Assuming he's still at UMHB I am interested in seeing Montana Miller tote the rock. On film in high school he looked like a good running back, and when you have 2 bros that were stud running backs before, you might have learned a thing or 2 at home.
Toby, as of last week Montana says he is looking forward to the 2020 season, so as far as I can tell from his posts he appears to be mended and available. Things can happen but like you I wold like to see the Miller legacy continue.

Congratulations Chapman on that top 10 finish.
Don't hang your helmet on that.

No reason for Chapman not to be a top 10 program moving forward:

1. Orange County
2. Good school
3. Good facilities
4. Weather
5. Hottest women on the planet (See #1)

Gotta agree on the hottest women boast, but I think some of the Texas hotties run in the top 3 (Oh and for those who see this a a misogynist post and may be clutching pearls, I'm talking about.. uhhhh body temps.. yeah that's it!)

An interesting group giving their commits, of course that could change before the 2020 season but it's always interesting to watch. With the transfer from St. Cloud state Justin Czech, that makes for interesting talk. I am liking Tommy Bowden as the 2020 QB so far, I like his decision making for the most part, Ryan last season threw passes into the turf, maybe it was nerves and the hands being tight, who knows, but when Bowden was called upon he delivered.
We have a long time to go before we see them in any sort of action again, so I hope the off season work is being done.

The UMHB O-line took some pretty heavy "beat-downs" from the pundits on this board after the UWW game.  The podcast after the semi-final focuses on the UWW defense getting 7 sacks against the Johnnie QB, who is a 5,000 yard passer/Gagliardi winner. Perhaps we need to re-assess those freshmen O-linemen.

Please link and listen at about 30:00.

I think our o-line is going to be fine. Their young, but certainly played a respectable game against UWW. Can't imagine being a freshman and getting my first start at center against UWW in the quarters because of an injury in practice on the thursday before. They handled themselves well. Our biggest offensive problem was the QB injury. Jase didn't look healthy, and everything seemed off because of it. That just let the UWW defense feast and made life harder of the O-line.
Looking back I think a few of us were asking if this would be a team in the shadow of the 2017 Cru and in a way yes. I think part of it is the young line, who will improve as they gel over the next few years but my question is not so much the athletes, but the schemes? It seems to me that if things don't snap right away the Offense calls seem to turn turtle and hope for the D to provide.

Congratulations to UMHB for a great season and a great undefeated run. In the last few years, UWW has experienced the same sort of ending to the season. The beauty is, stick with it and good things will come.
It took a herculean effort by UWW to defeat UMHB today. It is rare for any team to play a truly complete game, UWW did today.
Well there is the old saying, to be the best you have to face the best, no doubt UW-W is the best. That team, if they play this way through 2019 I would expect to see them in Shenandoah, which Hell, I'll plan on going down if UW-W is in Stagg. I actually enjoyed the game from watching the D do their work, wasn't thrilled with the O line but to watch the athleticism UW-W brought was excellent to see (just wished it wen a different way...but that's the game)
Lots of respect Warhawks, stay healthy!
