Did Shooter have money on Lycoming?

Luckily no. I just haven't witnessed a team that dirty in a long time. Hard for me to say the better team won in this case and to have bad officiating at this level is hard to imagine as well. Not a good image for the NCAA.

the NCAA really needs to start talking their referee selections more seriously. they should 100% need a decent background of playing/coaching/reffing. some of these guys are just plain and simple terrible.

Congrats to LVC men's soccer.  Back to back ECAC titles

Yes, very happy for Coach Grimes and his boys.  It'd be nice to see LVC get over the hump get themselves positioned for a berth to the NCAA tournament.

They will be losing some key seniors.  Let's see how the recruiting goes

They will never get an at-large due to the lack of SOS. Until they start to schedule a few more good teams and less sub-par teams they will always be on the outside looking in IMO. This year was the year to grab a bid with how much parity there was nationwide. A win vs the likes of Messiah or Lycoming might have done it for them but even then I don't know how high they would have climbed with the poor SOS.

this might be a better thread to ask this but what clubs do messiah recruit from in the area? which clubs are the best in your area?

LVC has always played a poor schedule non-conference. Would like to see how they stack up verse some better teams and give themselves a chance at at-large berths more often.

A majority of the roster typically tends to be from PA with the remaining being sprinkled in from NJ, MD, VA, and a couple odd balls from states far away. I don't know if they tend to always recruit certain areas but central PA seems to be the main recruiting area for them this year and in many past. Multiple players have come through Messiah from this area although many are different clubs.

Partly true, but with a major caveat: in general, the more geographical distribution one finds in an incoming class, the stronger that class turns out to be. For example, the highly talented JR class had five starters this year, from NY, PA, NC, MN, and Mexico. The current SR starters are from PA, PA, MD (Brandt since he's probably played his last season), MD (Bender) and NC. The sophomores had two starters (MA and NC), with the others from ME (but mainly CA where he grew up), PA, PA, NJ, and VA. Similar diversity will be found in the best previous classes.

From the following article:

Ruark will continue the Wesleyan-to-Mechanicsburg pipeline that started with Carter Robbins, Messiah's 2014 conference defensive player of the year. Carter, the older brother of Kirby and Cooper, is currently the assistant coach Wesleyan and coaches for the Piedmont Triad Football Club.

Thanks much for this information, joking. Another recruit is Carlisle (PA) GK Jared Pavlovich, first team in his conference. The same school that produced a great Falcon keeper who qualified for the Olympic trials in the decathlon, Chris Boyles. Not to mention Mark Acklee, a speedster from the first championship team.

A third recruit is a high level player from Maine, all-New England MF Luke Groothoff. His brother Jonathan is a current SO MF. Here's more information on him: http://www.ncsasports.org/mens-soccer-recruiting/maine/yarmouth/yarmouth-high-school/luke-groothoff and http://www.theforecaster.net/yarmouth-soccer-standouts-named-to-all-american-game-watch-list/

Never knew them personally, but both brothers seem like really good kids. Never saw Jonathan play but Luke impressed the one game I saw him. Their HS coach is a class act but also a very honest guy, and he has praised them a lot for both their soccer smarts and their off-field demeanor. If nothing else, Falconer, you'll certainly be getting another kid who carries himself well and will be a good addition to the program.

Any word on who will take over the job at Haverford?    Read that Shane is leaving for assistant position at Colgate...

luckylefty

Going to be a ton of qualified applicants.  Haverford will have to decide they want a D3 Head Coach, D3 Assistant or a D1 Asst. I'm sure they have multiple applicants from all of those backgrounds.
