Congratulations to W&L's Michael LaSalla. Named a D3Football.com first team pre-season All American at tackle. Nice to see another W&L O-lineman getting recognition. We all know how explosive that triple option can be, and it starts with the guys in the trenches.
Nice.  It should also be noted that Guilford's explosive De'Eric Bell got a second team nod as a Return Specialist.  Expect him to put up some impressive all-purpose numbers this year at RB, Receiving and Returns.   He's fun to watch!

I didn't see his name or I would have added it. Big congratulations to him. He was a stud in the W&L game last year and a weapon for the Quakers. He had 2 good KO returns and a couple 20 yard receptions/runs. I'm sure the conference will be watching lots of tape trying to figure out how to slow him down!

Jk & Hasa

Congrats. I love to watch both of those guys play and both will have lots to say about which team wins of the odac.

Crazy dream last nite; Guilford won the ODAC,  beat W&L, HSC & RMC, all three games in OT. I was tired win I awoke.
Sorry JK !!! Maybe 2017 will be more kind.

No worries. I believe everyone should have a dream. It makes it more fun to watch faces when it gets stepped on! Just kidding. W&L lived their dream last year. This year might very well be someone else's turn. Though I sure hope not...

Thanks.  I know you would have ... I suspected he might be there, so that's why I thought to look.  Again, congratulations to both young men!

Not the dream I was hoping for. Woke up suddenly & upset. Damn Quakers !!!! we'll do our best to start another 15 year run but not holding my breath waiting for that to happen. Still think Generals will win another odac title in 2016, and get beat badly in first round, typical of the odac winner.

I hope the Tigers never have another 15 year run against the Quakers ... that was painful!  Some of our newer posters may not know that Guilford topped HSC in 1999 and then did not win again against the Tigers until 2015's 33-20 victory in Greensboro. So, 2000-2014 was a long drought!  There were a couple of seasons in that stretch that I thought GC had the advantage, but couldn't pull through.  One game that sticks in my mind was HSC's 2007 road victory in Greensboro ... the final was 56-49 with the Tigers scoring 8 times on the ground and the Quakers getting 7 TDs passing from QB Josh Vogelbach.  Another memorable game was a 2005 contest, also in Greensboro, when GC dropped a 47-45 homecoming decision to the Tigers in Vogelbach's rookie season.  Both games were entertaining, but frustrating for Quaker fans!

I wonder what the longest streak in the ODAC is? W&L lost 19 straight to E&H from '83 to '01. That's got to be up there.

I'd also be curious to know about nationwide ... I bet two of the best places to look would be Mt. Union and UW-Whitewater opponents in the OAC and WIAC, respectively.  I remember Ohio Northern topping UMU maybe ten years ago, but most of the time the Raiders are 9-0 in conference.  I would wager there are some 20+-game streaks there.

EH has not beaten HSC since 2001.  Coach Favret is an amazing 30-2 against EH and GC.
Hampden Sydney College
ODAC Champions 77, 82, 83, 87, 07, 09, 11, 13, 14
NCAA Playoffs - 77, 07, 09, 10, 11, 13, 14
The "Game" 60 wins and counting...
11/18/2018 Wally referred to me as Chief and admitted "I don't know about that!"

Not quite true. Coach Favret lost to E&H in both his first two years in charge of H-SC, and Guilford last year. I suspect he is 29-3 against those two teams. Which is really no less impressive than 30-2, simply more accurate...

Out of nothing more than pure curiosity, I checked Coach Favret's record in "The Game" with RMC:  he's 10-6, having lost his first contest in 2000, then winning 7 straight from 2001-2007 and finally going 3-5 in the last eight games from 2008-15.
