As we understand it, Turner Broadcasting is main cog and hands off production to host school. In this case, Lawrence College

But yes, very frustrating for such an event

Cortland wins World Series opener 1-0  over Emory GA behind S. Lamando five-hit, 10 strikeout performance. Freshman shortstop Paul Dondero home run to left with two outs in the seventh the difference.

National pitcher of the years Lamando (10-0) yields leadoff ninth inning single to right by Nick Chambers but Chris Young lines into doubleplay to first baseman Austin Clock. Lamando gets final out on called third strike

Each side with six hits. Emory with the game's lone error. DH Patrick Schetter 2x3 for Corts

Would have liked to see pitch counts for the two aces. Game underway on schedule at 11 this morning. Substantial rain delay after three innings. Game wraps up around 3:30

Just saw the post-game press conference with SUNY-Cortland.  Winning pitcher Seth Lamando discussed what he did in the 2 hour rain delay.

The mental determination in the focus of his answer about concentrating on the game during the delay was what impressed me.  The straight in the eye look that he gave me as we spoke after the press conference impressed me. I admire that attribute very much. Congratulations to Seth on the outstanding "mental" game that he played to achieve what he did. I wish him best regards in all of his future endeavors. He said he is a physical education major. If he can inculcate his determination and mental discipline into his future athletes, then those young men and women will be greatly blessed.

(We saw a memorable pitcher's duel!  That game was a fan's delight.)

Well, Ralph, not a lot of us "saw" this memorable duel. But was a fan's delight. Haven't checked other sources yet, but would like to know the pitch count for each of those hurlers. Might you know?

Emory skipper in the press conference made mention of Lamondo throwing about 160 pitches

jdex,
Checked 3 different sites but none of them give the pitch count for either starter. Don't understand the lack of info.

Great game by the Red Dragons as Lamando showed why he was chosen as the D3 Pitcher of the Year. Superb defense by Cortland as well to get out of several jams with some fine fielding. Amazing to see both hurlers come back out and pitch after sitting out the long rain delay. The boys in the Big Leagues don't do that.

Looks like Cortland may play Trinity Texas tomorrow as they lead Wisconsin La Crosse 3-0 after 4 innings when the game was halted because of more rain.

Game was resumed and at midnight Eastern time Trinity is now ahead by a score of 6-0. Trinity will be batting in the bottom of the 8th.

Trinity defeats Wisconsin La Crosse 8-0. Cortland will face the Tigers at 2:15 PM this afternoon (Saturday). Emory meets Wisconsin La Crosse in an elimination game at 11 AM.

Cortland idle till Sunday when they meet TrinityTX in Pool A winners bracket. Trinity late Friday (early Saturday) blanked Wisc-LaCrosse 8-0

Weather has caused some schedule moves, as in moving the losers bracket ahead of the winners

St. John Fisher/Keystone PA playing this morning at 11 Eastern  in Pool B start. Weather could again be a factor. Cloudy, upper 70s. Humidity already 85% -- liquid rain!

Nice feature on D3 Baseball coverpage dealing with Cortland's Conrad Ziemendorf and SJF's Cody Wiktorski who grew up and competed against one another in western NY

This is why the schools should have the rights to the video/live stats.  Very disappointing yet not surprising that we can't watch these games, follow the games, etc...Kind of a joke to frank but it is what it is.  The NCAA can't get out of their own way as usual.  Maybe there is a basketball scandal going on somewhere taking all their time ;D

St. John Fisher, trailing 3-0 after 5 innings gives up 9 runs in the 6th to fall behind Keystone 12-0. Cardinals will need to regroup tonight in a Pool B elimination game to keep their hopes alive.
