It was nice to see William Paterson make it to the big dance and even get a upset win over McDaniel!    Nice Job Ladies!!  Thankfully Kean doesn't have to travel too far for the next round.   The only remaning NJAC team left in either of the NCAAs, hopefully they can put a run together and get to the final four.

Lets get out and support the NJAC and have a big turnout at NYU this weekend.   Its local, we can all get there by bus, train, taxi, car etc.

Go Cougars...

Pat, thanks for the post.  you guys do a great job on the broadcasts...

Alright people we need some chatter here on Women's hoops.  We have an NJAC team that has been in the top 20 in the country all season long (Kean) and nobody is talking about anything regarding NJAC women's hoops.

Lets hear what everyone thinks about the following;

1. The best and worst teams in the conference and how to fix them
2. Does Kean have the horses to win the National championship
3. What do you really think about splitting up the NJAC into 2 divisions

Speak up people...

njachoopsfan

Since the NJAC had gone back to the 2 division format, there has been a lot of chatter with some good and some bad.   What do you think

Pat Coleman

Any time you split a league into divisions there's the chance that you end up with an inequitable playoff structure. But I'm not sure the NJAC playing 18 games in a full double round-robin is a great idea either, so I guess it could be worse.

When I was an NJAC follower at TCNJ (mid-90s), I much seeing each team twice. It limits what you can do non-conference wise, but it really makes for great rivalries.

Rowan and William Paterson were the top teams then, and it was a big deal (at least to me, as student media) to go up to those schools for doubleheaders, and have them come to us...

The NJAC got three womens teams in the tournament which is kind of surprising, since it is tough to get more than two teams in the tournament these days.   Kean (25-3) received the automatic bid for winning the NJAC and it looks like they are hosting the 1st and 2nd rounds.  The open up against Utica(17-10).

William Paterson (20-6) and TCNJ (21-6) are in the same bracket and open up against St Lawrence  23-4) and Bridgewater VA (15-13).  They could meet in the regional final but it will take a few miracles along the way.

Good Luck to the NJAC women !!!

Here is the bracket

Pat Coleman

That bracket is out of date. Better to use ours. It has the proper hosts ... not to mention game times.

The website indicates capacity of 2,750.  Here is the link to Keans' website.
