Mr. Ypsi

Aw, shucks!  Thought maybe I could unveil some underhandedness at Wheaton! 8-)

I figured maybe Jeff Peltz got hired as a coach AFTER Wheaton noticed how good his son was at quarterback.  Alas, he's been on staff for 30 years.  Oh, well - I tried! :P

The CCIW needs to have nepotism rules! 8-) ;D

In basketball we get guys like Steve Djurickovic and Derek Raridon; now Wheaton football gets a 'gunslinger'! :P

IWU needs to focus more on how good their coaches' kids are! ;)
Maybe the IWU coaches kids are girls(although they could become kickers/punters)  ;D ;D If Thorne hangs around long enough, he can coach his grandson ;D ;D ;D

I'm sure Elmhurst is aware of Ponx's interviewing blunder.

I missed this "blunder"...anything you can share?

Don't bad mouth your current employer in an interview

Lets talk about the ethics of Carthage and sharing anything "supposedly" said in an interview with a current employer.  I've lost a lot of respect for Tim Rucks.

That is a great point.  Although federal law limits some of the topics that can be discussed in an interview, much of what is discussed is personal and confidential.  To turn around and disclose that information to an applicant's present employer (costing that employee his current position), is unethical at best, and illegal at worst (if that is what in fact occurred----I don't know and I have no "inside" information, so my comments are in general NOT accusatory).  While I am not licensed to practice law in either Illinois or Wisconsin (and it is likely to be federal issue in any event because of the interstate nature of the conduct), if this is the situation, someone in Carthage's athletic department would be well advised to put risk management on notice asap.

From someone that is very close to program, i can personally attest that this decision was absolutely right on point - very much deserving.  Let's keep that momentum rolling!

Well that certainly didn't take long.  The good thing about this hire is that Coach Adam has been an enormous part of the Jay turnaround.  Hopefully he can keep the Jays headed in the right direction.  Seems like he can.

Given the situation, I think Elmhurst made a smart move in hiring Joe. Those of you who have met Joe and talked to him about his strategies, know that he is a patient person, willing to put the ball in his player's hands, and has the capabilities to continue to the positive strides Journell and Lester have put forth.  Wish Joe the best. Certainly going to be an uphill battle, but hope he can make it happen.

Very funny.  8-)

I am just saying that a new HC often pushes back momentum a season or two.  Elmhurst lost their All everything back in Scotty and Lester.  I think Elmhurst has some good talent returning, but to think that there is no hill to climb would be mistaken.

Cold, windy and lacking in oxygen?

The north face of the Eiger has killed 64 climbers since 1935. That's why the Swiss call it der Mordwand, which means "the murderous wall" in German.

Given what NPU football seems to do to the careers of the men who coach the team, it seemed like an appropriate metaphor. ;)
